In the starting I dont expect Capriati defending her slams.

Davenport will have the number one spot until the clay court season.

Hingis will have a better year, than last.

The Williams sisters will be ready in the beginning.

Of course more Belgiam action!!

Hingis will drop to #6 before Roland Garros.
Already after the AO, Kim will pass her and not much later it will be Serena who passes her.

I expect Serena to do very well this year, reaching #2 or #3.

Capriati will not defend her slams and will fall to #4 or #5.

Kournikova will come back in the top-10, just like Mary Pierce.

1. Martina will be back to #1 where she belongs.

By the clay court season,...her ranking wouldn't be that high ,...But, after the Wimbledon she should be back to #1.

Look at the ranking points of current #1 & 2. It's below 5000 which is very little for top players.
She can do better in point wise.

2. Comeback of Anna & Mary
They can break into the top 10 easily if they are healthy.

3. So many different winners from events
There's no one player's dominace on tour. Maybe we'll have different winners week in week out.
Those are Venus, Serena, Monica, Lindsay, Jenn, Amelie, Justine, Kim, Jelena, Anna, Mary, Arantxa, Conchita,...... and Martina.

Go, girls!

Venus Williams will win all 4 Grand Slam events and secure her place in tennis history as , indeed, one of the best!

OR

Venus will be the next player to win a career Grand slam as she will win the Australian and French Opens thus securing her place in tennis history as one of the best ever!

I really believe that one of these events will occur in 2002!

Venus Williams will win a GS title, tying her with Martina Hingis and driving a small sub-section of Hingis fans to drink.

Serena Williams will win a GS title. Likely OZ, considering the number of injuries among the elite.

Jennifer Capriati will end 2002 ranked between #6 and #10.

Mary Pierce will not return.

Jelena Dokic is going to play Martina before March and ERASE her. We will all be shocked. There wil be much talk of Hingis being finished. Martina won't win anything before Roland Garros. Then the Willaims sisters wind up on the same side of the draw, and next thing you know, Martina's in the RG final.

Kim vs Serena at OZ. THE Match of the year. Youheard it here first.

I'd expect Kim and Jelena to be more prominant. I'd like to see Kim win Roland Garros.

I don't see Jen defending RG but I think she came out at the beginning of this year in good physical condition, I'd expect the same this year and she'll successfully defend Aus.

Venus will win Wimbledon again

Serena/Lindsey will win US. And Linsey lose her no. 1 to Jen right at the beginning of the year, but get it back around Feb and defend it until the hard court season.

My heart says Martina will rebound to where she was less than a year ago, but my mind says it will be Serena's year, in many aspects (GS and ranking wise)

I expect Russian girls (especially Lina, Anna and Elena D.) to finally produce some good results.
