Ok I am interested to know just what some of your worst fears are regarding your favorite and tennis? Note this is a bit of a depressing subject but one that I think we all can associate with, afterall were all human.... err.. right? Well exept for you few Klingon's out there.. lol

Anyway one of my worst fears is that Venus Williams will never become #1. Another one is that Venus may retire at 25.

Okay so what are some of yours??

That she will make comeback and loose 6:0 6:0 to somebody. I know this will not happen though.

My greatest fear is that Venus never wins a grand slam, and never reaches number 1.

My fears about Anna "kuddles" Kournikova and Elena "darling" Dementieva have unfortunately come true. Anna is injury prone. More so than I thought she would be. And Elena is not mentally tough. Or at least not nearly as mentally as tough as I thought she would be. And I'll also include Maria the "Russian Lynx" Sharapova in this. At 5'8" tall and weighing only 105 pounds my fear for Maria is that she won't be strong enough to survive the rogors of the WTA tour. But she's only 14, so she should grow some more over the next couple of years. Eat some pancakes, girl! Or Blini, as the Russians call it!

P.S. - Dawn, I guess your fears for Anna Kournikova continuing to wear high heels came true. Huh?

My worst fear for all my faves is that they don't fulfil their potential (in most cases they have the potential to win at least one Slam). Unfortunately, most of my faves seem to be oddly reluctant to fulfil their potential... let's see:

Iva Majoli. Sure, she's won a Slam, but those lost years in between... she could have been a top 3 mainstay, she could have been great...

Elena Dementieva. Obviously too early to judge, but WHERE'S THAT SINGLES TITLE, GIRL?

Mirjana Lucic. Enough said.

Lina Krasnoroutskaya. Again, far too early to tell... but there are SO many matches she's lost which she should have won. She virtually wasted 2000, and she's slumping again now. Still, I have hope for next year... she'll be huuuuge!

Venus Williams. OK, she's acknowledged to be the best player in the world. But she's making no headway to being #1, or to winning either Oz or RG. I know damn well she can do all three, that she COULD HAVE done all three last year. Get to work, girl!

but I don't think this is going to happen I hope it doesn't.

My number 1 fear is that I'll never see Venus again after she retires.

Fears while she's playing:
1)someone will try to physically hurt her(after the Spirlea bumping, the Monica stabbing, and the booing crowd at Indian Wells, I've been extremely paranoid)

2)that she'll fall and break a limb while tracking down those difficult shots

3)that she'll get into a terrible fight with Serena and they won't be friends anymore

At last, my final greatest fear for Venus is that she'll never become the number 1 player in the rankings. I know this will have a dissapointing effect on her because she feels that she can become #1, and I hope she someday does before she retires.

I LOVE VENUS!!

sartrista7, Lina's developement has been slowed by the wll intended, but misguided age restriction rule. I don't think anyone could dispute that.

Pisces, I feel the same concerns as you. Aside from Monica and Nancy Karrington, the skater(sp?), considering Venus and Serena are Afrikan American, I am always afraid of the "real" racist element.

My greatest fears are that Venus will never become the rightful #1.

That someone will hurt one or both of the Williams.

That Venus retires early.

That Venus never wins the French. Not likely

Last, that Serena never wins another GS title. Not likely, but still probable.

Retiring before she has a chance to get her comeback(at least top 50 but top 20 is my wish). She really deserves it after all her hard work.
