I think she can do well here. She's always played better against Venus than Serena, and she can beat Kim, Justine and Lindsay.
She's been injured a lot this year, but she played exceptionally well against Elena (not counting the first set). If she keeps herself together, I think this is a very good chance for her.

her preparation isn't that great so probably not. now that kim is out of toronto the only top 4 player left is justine. so she's not really going to see how kim has picked up her game which will make it tough at the open.

Riiiggghhhhhttt because she always has GS's "in the bag" as you like to put it. Theonly thing in a bag for her are clothes ready to go home after Venus(if she makes it that far) puts a royal stomping on her. All hail the Queen

From an unbiased perspective, I think she has a chance (heck everyone does ), but it is very very slim. I wouldn't even put her above someone like Maria Sharapova at this point . But still, I'd give her top twenty/top fifteen chance of the tournament. That being said, it really is Venus' title to win or lose at this point .

I also believe that Amelie will do well. Either a semis or finals but I doubt she win take it home. She also only played Toronto last year before the USO and got to the semis to give Venus a real challenge. I don't think she needs tonnes of warm up tournys. She has this week and the first week of the open.
