Tatiana Golovin hits a backhand winner during her 4 set victory over Peng​

Teenager Tatiana Golovin, a newcomer to the Tennis Ranch, has moved through to her first final with a semifinal win over Ms. Peng, 7-5 0-6 6-1 6-3. The young woman was incredibly happy after her match, in which she played solid tennis throughout the match, but specifically in the third and fourth sets.

"I really turned up my game in the third set because I knew that she would be feeling confident after winning the second so easily. I just tried to stay focused and not worry about having lost that second set. I just tried to play smart tennis, and it worked," said Golovin in her post-match interview.

Golovin will play Ana Ivanovic in the finals, a 2-6 6-4 6-3 6-3 winner over Ms. Garragues in the other semifinal.
