Jackson marches into Final

American Teenager Jamea Jackson reached the first ever Tennis Ranch final this week by beating Spain's Virginia Ruano Pascual 2-6, 0-6, 6-1, 6-4, 7-5. Jackson, playing her third match this week played aggressive baseline tennis to come back from two sets to love down. Ruano Pascual played crafty, smart tennis the first two sets, completely dominating her younger opponent with deep slices and outstanding volleys. However, Jackson showed her mental toughness by taking the next two sets, hitting countless winners to even the score at two sets each. The final set was a classic battle, with Jackson saving two match points on Ruano Pascual's serve, one with a miraculous forehand return winner, before closing out the match with an ace. "I am so excited to be in my first final," Jackson said, "I know that I can go out there and win, it is just a question of playing my own game." In the final Jackson plays top seed and fellow American Venus Williams who took out China's Shuai Peng in five sets.
