A very close match between this two, opposing Klina's big backhands to Lauren's biggest diversity. It could have gone to both sides as the scoreline suggests, but in the end Sprem was a little bit better.
Pliskova's bigger serve and power came through in this clash against a very consistent and versatile opponent. Karolina managed to control most of the baseline points which gave her the eventual win. :worship:
Andrea Petkovic (GER) def. Jelena Dokic (AUS) 6-3 7-5
A great display of consistence and variation from Petkorazzi. Dokic's serve and return skills weren't enough as she couldn't keep the ball in play for much against a very consistent player like Andrea.
Karolina Pliskova (CZE) / Andrea Petkovic (GER) def. Mandy Minella (LUX) / Jelena Dokic (AUS) 7-6(3) 7-5
Another good win for Pliskova/Petkovic who finish this tie winning all the matches. Pliskova/Petkovic dominated most of the baseline rallies with bigger forehands and backhands and enough power to damage their opponents game. :worship:
2nd Draw is over after two very interesting matches
Lauren and Masha keep their amazing performance with another 2-1 win, which makes them the only team with 2 wins. They are still not sure in the final as they still can lose tomorrow.
Sprem and Hsieh gave a good fight and will be battling tomorrow for the qualification for the final.
Pliskova and Petkovic get a very good and important 3-0 win, which might mean and advantage for them tomorrow.
Minella and Dokic were not very impressive today and with this 3-0 loss they are sure not in the final.
Tomorrow we have Day 3 with 3nd Draw matches of Albanese/Sharapova vs. Pliskova/Petkovic and Minella/Dokic vs. Sprem/Hsieh
Everything will still be decided tomorrow with 3 teams with chances to reach the final.
Later I will post the table with the wins/loses, etc.
