Mandy started better today with more consistence, she as more solution and is more versatile than Lauren. Lauren has better groundstrokes but she was just too eratic today.

Another though match in this tie. Both players were a lot consistent but in the end Hsieh's footwork and net skills gave her this great win. Another match to be decided in doubles.

Great finish for this amazing match with no 3-sets matches but with a lot of emotion coming from this 2 close sets wins. Pliskova/Petkovic were amazing on their serve part of the game, fiering aces with a lot of power. In the end it was the great returns from Klina and Su-Wei that decided the tie-break and the rubber.

Great way to start Season 2 of WCTT
Two amazing matches decided in the last rubber, the doubles one.

Good start for Lauren and Maria, a great showing of power and amazing groundstrokes. :yeah:
Mandy and Jelena are the opposites team. Jelena misses the versatility of Mandy and Mandy misses the weapons Jelena has.
Good win for Season 1 returners Su-Wei and Karolina who showed their game in three amazing battles. It was a great rubber that could have gone to anybody.
Karolina and Andrea should still be happy with their exhibition. :hug:

Tomorrow we have Day 2 with 2nd Draw matches of Albanese/Sharapova vs. Sprem/Hsieh and Minella/Dokic vs. Pliskova/Petkovic :drool:
The winner of the first will have a foot in the final and the winner of the second will have one foot in Brisbane. :lol:
