They didn’t schedule it yet. That’s probably the default time they show when they haven’t scheduled yet.
ok, makes sense, thanksI don't believe they are playing until Thursday
Chirico qualified fair and square. She beat the top seed in qualifying. Wang (LL) went on to destroy Tatjana Maria and now she plays Vekic. Some comments are hilarious. She was playing a lucky looser, not even a qualifier, and from the comments, it seems that raducanu won against the number one seed. Everything in her game has deteriorated, including her back hand which used to be one of the best. The only thing improved is her grunting which is for the worse. Am however glad she recovered from getting another panic attack when she was 4-3 down in the first set.
Noticed this as well. Her BH in particular has regressed so much.a big difference between USO Raducanu and present Raducanu is how much she's waiting for the ball tbh during the USO she was on the baseline taking everything early and now she's looping things in most of the time
Lol..... she's not even come close to proving the bolded.Thinking back on how this compares with her Wimbledon opening match and second match, at Wimbledon I thought her first match against AVU was an ugly match from start to finish, but somehow she won because the other player was worse. She didn't have a visible panic attack like this time but she never regained her form throughout the match either. So she went into the second match like a sitting duck against an axe-to-grind Caroline Garcia.
This time was both worse and better. Worse because she actually had a full on panic attack mid-match but was able to overcome it herself and close out the first set. Better because when she was up a break in the second set (thanks in large part to her opponent's DFs and UEs), she found her footing and her game. The last 2-3 games esp. her confidence came back and she started playing more like the old Emma again.
I think this whole year she has been playing against two people in every match: herself and the other player. Her biggest opponent has actually been herself. At her best like at USO she is capable of beating any player on any given day. There is really no weakness in her game. It was all in her head. Lack of confidence caused by lack of match play. She was in denial all year about pressure, but it's good to see her finally acknowledging the nerves tonight.
Hopefully the difference btwn this and Wimbledon '22 is, this time she hit bottom and came back, and will be able to continue from where she left off, i.e. the second half of this match, and go from strength to strength from here on out, like she did after Wimbledon '21.
