Re: Wang Xin Yu (2001)

Xin Yu has just lost 6-3 5-7 4-6 to Chen :bigcry:

She was up 3-0* in the 3rd set :sobbing: :(

I watched bits of her R1 match yesterday, she has a nice game and is supercute! #willstan :inlove: :yeah:

Re: Wang Xin Yu (2001)

Chen compared her to Samantha Crawford

Like Hewitt, Wang is a powerful player, but Chen was able to neutralize and anticipate many of Wang's huge ground strokes.

"I just try to get every ball back," Chen said. "I also try to mix up with the slice a lot, a high ball here and there. I just wanted to mix up the pace a little bit. She kind of reminded me of Samantha Crawford, blasting balls here and there."

Hopefully she can add a bit more control to her game.

Re: Wang Xin Yu (2001)

She really didn't seem as much of a ballbasher as Samantha in that match against Mahak :SNE:

Xin Yu is through to the dubs QFs with Lea Boskovic from Croatia: they beat Baptiste/Mossmer 6-2 3-6 [14-12] in R1, and yesterday they dragged struggling 2nd seeds Branstine/Sewing, 3 & 2 :inlove: :worship:

QF vs. Naito/Vismane, who upset 5th seeds Kharitonova/Rybakina in R1 :bounce:

The results were those of XiYu Wang 王曦雨, not Xin Yu Wang 王欣瑜. Both are referred as X. Wang in the US Open site.

They will face each other in SF.

Oops, I am so sorry :SNE: :hysteric: Been mixing up these 2 for years, and I guess I'm still struggling (and really wanted Xin Yu to be the one who partners Lea) :sobbing:

Xiyu is left-handed right?

Hopefully there will be five Wangs 五王 in the WTA Tour not too long, Mei Ling, Xi Yu, Xin Yu in addition to Qiang and Ya Fan.

By the way Xin Yu's father Wang Peng 王鹏 was chief coach of the Womens Natonal Tennis Team of China and was reported to have recently left office.

Xiyu is left-handed.

The two Wangs partnered in 2017 Wimbledon.

Fancentre said Wang Xin Yu had a sprained foot and it takes one week to recover.

The same injury occurred when she defeated the first seed Lee Ya Hsuan in October playing 15K Nonthaburi, Thailand.
