This sort of stuff happens and it is hard on everyone, the umpire, ball boys and girls and the players. Was it rain delay or was it long matches? The players still playing past 2AM, they are shot for the next day.
I think it was a rain delay because a lot of matches were only just starting or not completed when the day was almost over, and they were only using 2 courts for the night.

Intrigued how high Chirico can go. She’ll always be known for that Madrid SF.

6 of the 8 in the QF are from USA. Teenagers Brantmeier & Kalieva advance as does Lapko. This might be Lapko's chance to the title.

Well, 21/32 players in R1 were Americans anyway, so this is hardly surprising.
He/she usually posts the obvious facts in stead of pointing out something special so I doubt that there was an intention to post something surprising. :lol2:

I (he) Agree that the post had facts but no information. I did not state an opinion or take a stand that someone can comment on.

Minimally posts contain opinions on a player and whether that player will win; Others comment on a player based on their past knowledge; Others recap a match they have watched, bemoaning the bad and praising the good; others ask questions that another poster may answer; and many other reasons that make the post interesting. That is why I enjoy these threads.

Posts by @Daebak and @Jerem are the engines for ITF Tournament posts providing draws and results.

Some posters post mainly to irritate and seem to enjoy getting the adverse posts and the ensuing dialogue. That is not my intent.

I noted that you are well respected by other posters. Kudos on that.

So, thanks for the feedback.

Vera Lapko continues to validate my thoughts that she would do well in this tournament. In the top 100 in 2018, she was off the circuit for a good while and played a less than full schedule in 2021. She is into the finals. Can she take the title?

Very nice week, sort of out of nowhere, for Sophie, and she has a chance to take the doubles title too. She has a nice game, when it's on, so maybe she could push towards slam qualies this year.
