Looking forward to the semis tomorrow, hoping to go and watch! <img src="https://i.imgur.com/RG8lZFZ.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Big Grin" class="inlineimg" />
It's a beautiful sunny day today here, not a cloud in the sky. Not a bad way to see two top 100 players for free, Zhang and Maria about to start. They don't charge for tickets at this 100k at Ariake. Bit of a building site around the venue though.

Zhang raced through the first set 6-0. Lol.
Maria has not enough depth on her slices on this surface, she is not agressive enough and the slices just sit up for Zhang. Zhang is playing well within herself and is just moving Maria from side to side until Maria makes a mistake or she can put the ball away with room to spare.
Poor Maria , it's not a good match for her. I like her style , love watching her on grass but it doesn't work on this court with this opponent. She's hit some lovely dropshots. She should try coming in more and hitting over her forehand every chance if she has any chance of winning as it's 60 20 Zhang now.

Zhang wins 60 63 over Maria. It was really straight forward for her.

Maria and husband need to decide what sort of player she wants to be , she won't beat any of these better top 100 players frequently with her style. The slices are just not good enough yet she continues to stick with it.

Poor Peng, she is like one of those old alleycats that has been through one too many fights, lol. She is bandaged in several places around her body, and has been shaking her arm repeatedly since the match begun. She has retired after the first set , Paolini wins. Paolini will offer a much more competitive challenge to Zhang in the final.

Re: W100 Tokyo (JPN) 2019 | Nov 11 (Draws)

For goodness Peng take some time off and heal those injuries. It’s called the off season for a reason! No wants to see a player hobbling into 2020.

Odd how in the last fortnight Peng has retired from 2 matches and also won 2 matches through retirements of her opponents - it must be catching.

Zhang is coasting through this draw.

Tournament has been held since 2015 (with the exception of last year), and still Zhang Shuai remains it's only winner
