This was how she won junior Wimbledon. She made every other player there appear like a dunce while she was the dux - and it wasn't even close.

There is just one seed left (Kucova), and she may not last past today if Diatchenko continues this run of form. The amazing stat ahead of this match is that they have played each other just twice before this - in the semi-final of this tournament in 2008, when Diatchenko went on to win the title, and here again in the first round in 2014, when Diatchenko won in straight sets..
Agree. Snigur is playing lights out tennis, after a wobble in the 2nd set, she put away Kuzmova 6-0 in the third set. She is making mincemeat out of good players like Xinyu and Kuzmova. Hopefully this will be her new level as she moves forward.

Day 5:

Kucova vs Diatchenko
The first set was almost all on Diatchenko’s racket. She was returning serves, including first serves with excellent depth and pace and continued to drive Kucova around the court and finish the points. But on Diatchenko’s serve, Kucova was playing solidly. Diatchenko should have respected the returns and started a rally, instead she was trying to hit winners. So she broke serve but then gave up her serve, 6 breaks in 8 games. In the TB Diatchenko had more errors than winners, so lost the TB. Kucova could not stay with Diatchenko but she played consistent average tennis and took the set. The 2nd set was a carbon copy and in the TB Diatchenko was even more erratic, Kucova won the TB 6-1.

Snigur vs Kuzmova:
Snigur is a delight to watch. She can hit winners from two or four feet behind the baseline. She is like Krejcikova, driving the ball to the sidelines near the service box on either side. She returns serves with length and position, setting up rallies that she wins in 3 or 4 shots. She retrieves well, moves so so so well and returns difficult shots with good depth and quality. She is quick to switch to offense and hit a winner. In some games, Kuzmova seemed befuddled on how to win a point. Despite a wobble in the middle of the set, Snigur ran away with the set at 6-3, breaking again in the last game.

In the second set, Snigur’s game dropped a tad and Kuzmova stepped up her game. Snigur’s serve is not the same caliber as the rest of her game. Kuzmova attacked her first serve while also serving aces and unplayable serves to hold her own serve. Snigur was able to get to a TB. In TB it was Kuzmova’s excellent serves versus Snigur’s decent but not adequate serves that gave the TB to Kuzmova. In the third set Kuzmova seemed tired, her first serves not so authoritative. Her two matches earlier were tough 3 setters. Meanwhile Snigur was fresh and firing away. Snigur jumped all over Kuzmova, with a double break at 3-0 then thrashed her 6-0.

Snigur is in azone. She is almost like Iga at RG or Raducanu at USO. That might be a hyperbole but despite two three setters, she is making mincemeat out of excellent players like Xinyu 60 67 61, and today Kuzmova 63 67 60. Will she be like Camila Giorgi? I think not, her game is too sound. But we will see.

Krunic vs Shinikova:
Krunic has been awesome in this tournament. After a convincing 3 set win over a good WTA player Bodan, 6-0 in the third set, she annihilated the next two lower ranked players expending 6 games in total. Shinikova has also had a good tournament including first round win over #2 seed Saisai. Shinikova has made it into AO qualies. But today, even though she was playing well, she was defeated by Krunic comprehensively. Krunic served well, returned serves well, hit winners and had few errors. Ten minutes into the match she was up 3-0, Shinikova got on the board, 3-1, then Krunic raced to take the set 6-1. Second set 6-2.

Gasanova vs Qinwen:
In their last meeting Qinwen easily defeated Gasanova, 64 62. In this tournament Gasanova has found her groove. The match versus Tsurenko was key, Gasanova stepped up, coming from one set down to defeat the former #23 (in 2019). Tsurenko was playing hurt and in pain but was still blasting winners. Gasanova was ready today and got her revenge against Qinwen 61 63

Going forward:
Any of the 4 could lift the title. Kuckova cannot be disregarded, she has a lot of experience, and had match point vs Barty when they last played. In the last match Diatchenko was the better player but Kuckova held steady and was resilient against the storm and won the day. Snigur clobbered Gasanova 60 62 when they met last but so did Qinwen. It will be tough match. Still, my pick is Snigur and Krunic in the finals.

Day 6:

Snigur Vs Gasanova:
Gasanova showed her mettle winning the first set. In the second set Snigur was dominant; Gasanova had a MTO at 0-3 and never got into the set. In the third set Snigur was playing superbly with her easy power and placement. Snigur was holding serve comfortably while Gasanova had to struggle to hold serve. Even when Gasanova broke back to level the set, there was a feeling of inevitability that Snigur was going to take the set and the match. Gasanova played well but overall she was not the better player today. Snigur continues her Kontaveit-like performance.

Kucova vs Krunic:
The first set was much like the match with Diatchenko. Kucova withstood the barrage from Krunic, with her consistent retrieval that forced Krunic to hit one more ball. Kucova hit fewer winners but they were timely. Krunic was awesome in many rallies, hitting winners with ease. But she failed at crucial moments, at BP and again at set point in TB leading 9-8, when she had easy shots to finish but netted them. Krunic had an MTO at 3-3 and it might have affected her but Kudos to Kucova for yet another tough win. Kucova took the match convincingly in two sets, 76 60.
With this win, Kucova is now into AO MD. Well done.

First time i watched her and i was impressed by Snigur honestly, good ball striker... Gasanova was always on the run!

no word for Aleks...(n) more and more an exhibition player, so frustrating to have theses skills and play without grit

and she gave no handshake... completely useless today

To Blow away a good player 63 60 was awesome to watch. In the second set Kucova could not get more than a point or two in each game and the games went so fast. Snigur was in a zone so the question is how will she play when she comes off the peak. I think she will do well. Her rank jumps about 40 spots to around 143 just a few spots behind Gasanova
