Seeing as what happened in Charlottesville, I wonder if Brengle, Dart, or Wang will play. The tournament might need a full medical unit on the sidelines ready to go!

Well the Q draw is now out, and Talaba is the Q1 seed, so it looks like the 4 above her - Kiick, Liu, Min, and Baptiste should all be in the main draw, 2 probably in place of the SE's (or as an SE in Liu's case). All 4 are American though, so Min and Baptiste could easily both have had MDWCs, or they could be replacing 2 withdrawals, and the MDWCs going elsewhere, so there aren't too many clues from the Q draw, but at least one of Brengle, Dart and Xinyu should still be in the main draw.

Some biggish names in quals - Krunic, CoCo V, Ula.

At this rate they should turn this tournament into a 125k like the Dow Tennis Classic to replace the void of the Oracle 125k's in the US.

Some good names for a 100K ITF draw: Coco V, Krunic, U. Radwanska, Glatch.

This could be good for Coco, she needs to work her way back up from this level imo.

Interested by Jantje Tilbürger being in this draw. How does a 1000 ranked German player who has been playing the 15k circuit in Tunisia and Egypt all year go for this? She was the 10th alternate in the last ITF Acceptance List - what was the incentive to actually show up and likely take an early beating? It seems like the Q lists for a lot of tournaments are falling apart, understandably, with all the travel restrictions still in place. I wonder if some players are being too conservative about picking where they try to play.

Anyway, Tilbürger is on the stream now against Sebov and is losing early, as her resume would suggest.

Wait! We have a Whitney siteing! Oh no, she drew the top seed! What will she do? HER NAILS! I’ll make this brief because I do get a lot of baclash but Whitney Oh No! drew the top seed and she has a lot of points to defend. I am sorry to say Whitney’s name may need to be changed to “Oh no Whitney there goes your ranking No!” That’s right she is going to be at the bottom of the 200s after this event so let’s hope she can pull off an upset or a miracle!

Main draw out, Xinyu (@njnetswill) and Dart both playing.

Caty McNally took a late WC, knocking Dart out of the seedings, and typically, they have drawn each other in R1, ha.

Xinyu has an early rematch with Volynets.

BRENGLE in as well, and plays Whitney O first.
If Whitney can't beat a one legged Brengle, things for her will be pretty dire.

Hey if there is a mobile manicurist within a ten mile radius, Brengle will have nothing to worry about. I have actually watched Whitney Oh No check her nails while waiting for a serve during a WTA tournament qualifying match. She was more concerned about her nails then her opponents serve. So Brengle, and I know she is injured, doesn’t have much to worry about. I live, I work near where Ms. Whitney Oh No trains, and it is well known tennis is not her priority. I let the results speak for themselves.
