Recap: Voting is now underway at http://www.wtatour.com/ to decide which of sixteen nominated women's tennis matches will be declared the greatest ever (there will be two separate winners - fans and media).
The first round of voting finished yesterday, and eight matches have advanced to the second round. I am pleased to report that all three nominated matches of which Monica was the victor have advanced to the second round!
The second round of voting involves four matches a week for two weeks. This is the first week, and each voter must choose one of the following:
1990 VS Championships Final
Seles d. Sabatini 64 57 36 64 62
1992 Roland Garros Final
Seles d. Graf 62 36 10-8
1999 Roland Garros Final
Graf d. Hingis 46 75 62
2002 Australian Open Final
Capriati d. Hingis 46 76(7) 62
Two of these matches will advance to the third and final round of voting (week commencing 27th October).
The second half of the second round will be up for voting next week, including Monica's 1991 US Open semi-final win over Jennifer Capriati.
Please note: it's one vote PER EMAIL-ADDRESS, and the email-addresses aren't even verified!
