I expect Bepa to get a WC to both IW and Miami. For IW as a former winner she definately should get one and for Miama as it is a IMG event (for sponsors). Both are not yet confirmed so far.

Unfortunately you are right, she will not play Rio because of the doctors advise her to rest the shoulder a bit longer . Not this worries me big time, that after playing 3 tournies she needs to have to shoulder rest. Time will tell. The article is in Portugese, I am sorry for our Brazilian friends they will not see her play there, but so is Vera.

Maybe later, but not now. I believe she gains most now from playing the MD's. Of course, risk is she meets a top player soon and goes out (as it is as a qualifier), but it will makes her stronger to be pushed. I agree she has been unlucky and not much match practise, she needs more, but who guarantees she will play more than 1 qualy match at the moment. Just my opinion, but who knows she will qualies eventually, especially in GS later in the year.

Question: how many WC a player can receive in a year??

I don't believe there is a limit to the WC you receive, that is up to the tournament directors/sponsors. She has 8 SR's to use though for being injured longe than 6 months and she has used none so far (apart from the one she can use for GS in OZ). Her PR is 15 I believe, so using it would get her easily in any tournament.

Oh no . Seems like 2012 again, all those withdrawls to tournaments. Wonder about the reason, but I don't like the sound of it. She wants to play more matches, but instead she will not play.

I'm still believing she pushed too much and now is paying the price.. Her return was really precipitated..

Now, we have to do the same thing we did in the last 20 months: await..

Her surgery was already over a year ago, bur if the shoulder is still not OK, I am starting to think, will it ever be again to play the level she can. You could be right she pushed too much to be back. Seems so strange as she only played what, 5 matches since her return?

Take the time tyou need, Vera, as hard as it will be, we will wait.

Think she pulled out there as well, she is not on the EL which came out yesterday. As Marrakesh is the week before and she pulld out there already, it would make sense.

No, no and no . She is not on these EL's, I don't think she is ready to play yet. Even if she could play RG, she could get a WC, but I doubt she will request without any match play. My feeling says she will skip the grass season as well. If she will play again in 2014, I think it will be for the US hardcourt season, but only if she feels 100% OK again.

Well, she was never IN for Roland Garros, so did not expert her to be there anyway.

On the other, the longer it takes for her to come back, the more I consider the possibility she will not come back at all. Yes, we can be patient and have faith. But we already do that since beginning of 2012. The shoulder has almost bothered her now for 3 years and it is still not OK. In 2013 she takes that decision to go for an operation and it did not solve it. So if we have to be patient how should it be for Vera. She is almost 30 and does not have many years left in the tank, at least for players to stay at the top.
Support and patience, no problem, and we know Vera appreciates it. But if there is no change to her situation soon to give her prospect for the future, I think Rafa might be right.

Unlikely this now, as Vera will play the WTT in US, those weeks. That runs from July 7th till July 23rd, Baku starts July 21st.
