Venus is very overlooked clay court player.She has one of the greatest combinations of playing aggressive and defensive simultaneously.

Right now Venus is not better than Stosur or Sharapova on clay. And there are other players who can beat her on clay. I don't think she will even make the final in Madrid. However, in a RG final against Sharapova Williams would be the favourite for sure ...
That doesn't change the fact that her results on clay are inferior to those on hc and grass.

hmmmm i'm a Venus fan and i'm not too sure i'd be making this prediction right now as much as i'd like to see it happen.
She has a chance at Madrid and Rome, depending on draw and form but at this stage i'm just looking forward to seeing her play again, especially watching her play a slam again, where she can hopefully pick up some decent points, to get herself a decent seeding for Wimbledon which she can definately win.
Hope this thread turns out to prove everyone wrong though!

i think given what we saw in miami, venus fans should just be happy if venus gets through the clay season onjury free and relatively healthy with some matches under her belt.
seeing her huffing and puffing at 10 shot rallies on hard, doesn't seem great for what could be punishing rallies on clay.

I seriously doubt it. The Empress is probably seeking revenge from the Charleston loss. Plus there are too many players who are better than her at the moment. Unless Maria and Serena bomb out early, I'd give her zero chances of nabbing any title. Even if she reaches them, god knows how physically worn out she will be.
Maybe Strasbourg?

It would be nice if she could. I'm not expecting one though. I would just love to see some decent results like making the quarters or even better and losing to quality players and not on her errors.
