They've got to do something.

They're still in the 2nd round

Kirilenko needs to finish her singles and then doubles can be played. So play needs to get started soon for them to finish and then the one set of doubles can finish under the roof in case of more rain.

^Meelis to the rescue.

The women's doubles draw is actually fine BESIDES this one match. 5 teams are in QFs already. 2 R3's are tomorrow plus the R3 that contains the winner of this match. The issue is this one match is holding up play. It just severely hurts the chances of this one team that gets the win. So yeah, Kirilenko/Petrova and Venus/Serena are very behind the others. But hopefully they level it up by the end of tomorrow and then each team has to play every day until the end.

I know Serena wants to be nice to Venus but she should withdraw. She really shouldn't be playing 1 1/2 matches the day before her semifinal, at least I wouldn't want to.

She isn't gonna sit around London all day you know.
If you don't know... Winning the Doubles is one of Serena's goal this year.

It will be like she is playing a 3 sets match. The match against Maria is only a set. If they win then the other will be a normal game, which they should try and wrap it up in 2 sets. I think she can handle it, these pros are used to playing everyday. This will just be her warm up for the semis.

It's not about being nice it's about fulfilling the commitment. Venus won a U.S Open with Serena on a really bad knee and played singles and doubles on the same day several times in that event. Serena won't bail on Venus unless she is injured. Serena and Venus have played singles and doubles both back to back to back days in the recent past and in heat and been fine, this isn't going to be too much for Serena. Plus this is grass and the points aren't as taxing and the matches aren't as long. If the Williams play like they are capable of they should barely spend a little over 2 hours on court tomorrow. If that's going to cost Serena in singles she's not in good shape. But she is in good condition so I doubt it will cost her. :)
