Come on now, it is not Darla's fault

check out www.tennisweek.com

it is right there on their front page.....

I know we dont want Venus out of the Open, but we will just have to wait and see what the other media groups report
I've been checking around and no other media outlet has mentioned anything about Venus pulling out. The BBC wire is the only place I've found that is talking about Venus and it says while she's not 100% she is going to play and that Serena will be in the stands cheering her on.

I won't be critical of darla but you have to admit it is suspicious,
considering no other outlet has said anything on this "Big news" and that this is her first post and this is what we get. Hmm...

How do you know Darla is not the person who put that on tennisweek?? She could be admin there.

I dont, but that is not likely. But if it is, then the story is most likely 100% accurate Tennisweek is a world renowned publication in the the sport. Go to any ATP/WTA tourney, and you will see their booth their. They are usually the 1st to break news in the sport.

Well it seems that this time in their attempt to be the "first"
they've not gotten the right or complete info.

I can see not getting the date right,
but they didn't even get the injury right.
Last I heard it was her abdominal muscle not her groin.

If it is it will be one of the weakest GS of the history :(

Born yesterday ? Check little bit of AO history...
So 1 & 2 players (in real world) out , maybe. Big deal, it is more interesting if there isn´t one or two that dominate/destroy all others. ie. Navratilova - Evert, good matches between them but there is more depth now and growing all time.

Tell the sponsors that when they see the ratings!

I suspect tennisweek might have been hacked.
I agree- I called the offices in NYC and no one is picking up their phone- and that NEVER happens. Another thing that NEVER happens, is the article is missing Richard Pagliaro's name- he edits all the latest news articles, and in fact writes most of them...

If you look at the caption under the picture where is says Photo by Susan Mullane, the b in "By" isn't capitalized, whereas the other B's "By" on the other trusted stories are capitalized. The writing style is also very different

Hmmmmm.... ;)
