Venus at post match interview: "I like challenges, like answering stupid questions."

"First of all I have to give credit to her...I've lost before so I know how to deal with it...Simple as that."
"I'm tough, let me tell you. Tough as nails."
"I don't have time to be negative. It doesn't feel good."
"I absolutely love this sport, and I feel like I can play well. I’m not going to give up on it."
Venus Williams, subdued yet quick to laugh, is giving a very classy press conference right now. Asked whether we can expect to see her next year at Wimbledon. She smiles. "I'm planning on it." We have our fingers crossed, Venus.

I love her!

In what context did she say that?

Another question for retiring.

The questions were stupid  . What's the point in asking "how she feels"? How the fuck do you think she feels :haha: ?!

That's not a stupid question. Journos need quotes like that from Venus herself.

Why can't people ever grasp this concept?
It's kind of self-explanatory though and if I were a player, it would anger me to have to answer it.

There are other ways of gaging her thoughts on the match without having to ask such a generic and obvious question  .

I don't understand why anyone would ever have a problem with answers like these. She didn't insult the "journalists" but she let them know she's not in the mood for their BS

Well you're not going to see "How the fuck do you think she felt?" in a newspaper article, are you?

No, you're not. But questions such as "What gave you trouble today?" or "How do you feel you played" -- even if generic-- are at least more indicative of how a player felt about the match than "How do you feel?" .

Do you think any player feels "good" after a loss? The mood of the player becomes evident through the answers to other questions.

Re: Venus at post match interview: "I like challenges, like answering stupid question

I thought, as always, Venus handled her press conference with grace and was well spoken as always.
However, lets get real. 32 is expiration age for ANY tennis player. Not just ones suffering from systemic diseases. It may get irritating, it may get repetitive. But as the losses keep piling up, so will the questions asking basically "Why haven't you retired yet ? When is it happening ?"
I feel that Venus addresses these as best as can be expected but to throw up your hands and act like they are unreasonable questions, when you bomb out in straight sets in the first round of your supposedly favorite major is silly.

 @ people trying to say she was being a Bitch. She dismissed retirement suggestions in epic style. It was as simple as that.
