Some people keep saying how people cheer against them at tournements, how there is racism in tennis, blah blah blah, but the same people say after how the ratings go down when they are not playing, that tickets don't sell when they are not playing, that they are so popular around the world.
Isn't it a contradiction, are they popular or not? Their supposed unpopularity is a myth created by a small group of Willi fans with the "playing the victim" syndrom.
They are very popular worldwide.
Wheather it be good or bad. Wheather people come to see them play, root for them, or root against them. Whether you like them or not their popularity can't be denied.
Now I know some people are going to bring up so-and-so being more popular here and there, but overall the sisters are huge draws.
They provide and awesome game, mixed with contrasting personalities,
and incredible fashion. You get a lot more than just great tennis with these young ladies and they provide a combination of dimensions that isn't present with any other players on the tour today.
Their are poeple who will never give the sisters the proper credit they deserve. And their will always be this hypocritical double standard where they are concerned. Damned if they do, damned if they don't!
Bottomline, they sell where ever they go(notice the word "sell" not always "sellout's", but they sell and provide much more and that's why sells go up when they are present). If certain people can't handle too bad. Let them argue until they are blue in the face.
