Yeah...I kind of figured when he posted that picture. I wonder who initiated the split and if Eric would still appear on Venus' YouTube.

I imagine they have things pre-recorded so maybe...unless Venus would scrap them because they feature him. He got a lot of publicity being attached to their names, so that was cool for him. Bouchard isn't an elite player but she is younger and obviously has more potential than Venus at this stage in her career.

If Venus is coming back, I don't really know what a true coach can do for her. Her physical is so compromised that maybe she just needs a hitting partner she can bond with and do some scouting for her.
Are we sure they're split for good? I have a feeling Eric is just on loan to Genie (Venus is friends with her and would have been the one to hook them up while she's in recovery, since they probably wouldn't have met at a tournament). I'm not alarmed by his insta bio saying 19-23 because I think he's just listing all the years and is still working with her (it is currently still 2023... lol). Eg he would change it to 2024 if they continue into next year. At least I hope so!

If Vee and Genie manage to play the same tournaments (they will both need WCs :annoyed:) I can see them sharing him as a coach and mentor on the road. A few other veteran players have done this (Kanepi and Petkovic sharing a coach, for example).

Eric also has that junior player I met at the AO last year and already forgot his name.

I am actually so upset that Rune is probably going to be around for a long time. :hysteric: Something needs to change at some point. I don't know how much more I can watch of that Children of the Corn face and that stank attitude.
:spitrofl:not that! :hysteric:.

And how accurate is that tea about Winenus partying the night away with Bouchard!? What would Jehovah say?

And now that I'm thinking about it his record with Venus was 24-35 during that time period. She's been needed a new coach tbh. They were giving best friend vibes lol So you guys remember last year after Wimbledon when she went down to Croatia and practiced with those guys? Could that have been a hint?

A lot of her floppery during that period has been injury-related, but equally, she's thrown in a few Flopnus matches. It's just been really hard for them to gain traction as a team, so I find it hard to judge the partnership overall.
He has done some interesting technical things with her, e.g. remodelling her serve and forehand, but those changes haven't really had time to bed in, given how infrequently she's been playing.

I wouldn't be aggrieved if he went, but it would be interesting to see them work together for an extended period, unhampered by injury.

Hey guys, can you give me advice with what I do for Birmingham as the tickets are on sale today with an announcement that Emma will be coming which worries me that a good amount of Centre Court seats will be sold soon, how long do you think it'll take or for it to be close to selling out as Queens tickets went on sale on February 21st and it's now March 14th and they're close to selling out which also worries me that if I were to ask Venus on IG soon she won't know and whilst waiting for her to come back and then ask her tickets could be gone but then again Queens is a 500 so you could expect that whereas Birmingham is a 250 but with the news about Emma I'm worried. With that in mind I want to buy my tickets first so that they're secure and then wait for Venus and ask her and then I can either carry on or get the refund but you guys know better what do you think?

I think if you know you can still enjoy the event if Venus doesn't go you should get your tickets now. If the experience of an in person tennis event is what you are after I think you'll still enjoy yourself. If the goal was just to see Venus though and you know you won't have fun if she doesn't play then maybe wait and see if you hear anything. I think we are in for a long wait though. It's looking really unlikely that she will do anything during the clay season so we probably won't know her status for Wimbledon until like May.

Yes while all this is true, some of the changes aside from the simpler serve aren't really helping her. The timing on the forehand is just off and she uses a slappy motion now and without good timing errors are just going to pile up. Also Venus standing 8 feet behind the baseline to return serve and scrambling all over the court isn't helping her injury prone body. I feel Venus needs to be controlling the center of the court more like Davenport use to,who was known for so so movement

Well as much as I'm after the experience of an in person tennis event I won't enjoy myself if Venus doesn't go as I have a green t-shirt which says 'Game Set Match V.Williams' which I want to wear at Birmingham but thanks for being positive, I'm not getting my tickets yet but if I wait until like May is there a chance that with Emma's news tickets could be close to selling out otherwise I'm not gonna wait and just hope she plays next year and enjoy the tournament on TV.

I’m actually loving Rune being a bit of a dick. It’s time someone comes and shakes things up in the ATP. These guys are too nice with their hugging and gushing, we need some drama.

Perhaps Rune and Wawrinka had a little make-up session in the locker room. 😜 I spy sexual tension.

I agree with @Sister Price Stan looks good! Maybe also something about the way he carries himself.

RE: Rune, there is something about a 'villain' that brings character to the tour, he does add some value. At the AO I genuinely think he would have had the best shot at beating Djokovic (and can be a potential long-term foil for Alcaraz). It would just be nicer if he wasn't such a little sewer rat with his behaviour. He literally gives me Annabelle Doll vibes, something very dark-sided afoot with this one.

Oh Jehovah... this will probably end up as one of those Tennis RPF erotic fanfics the gays write.

Did you fashion forward PV's see that Venus's stylist Law Roach has retired? He styled her all last year for the King Richard press junkets. There's some tea but no one has spilled it yet. The fashion industry is pretty awful and Zendaya is definitely going to miss LR:

@Couver I know I'm getting excited ahead of myself about Venus and that she might not come to Birmingham but do I wait until like May or is there a chance that by then with Emma's news tickets could be close to selling out?
It's hard to say and likely only a decision you can make. I would assume good tickets will be in short supply the closer to the event we get. The grass season is so short that I assume UK tennis fans snap up tickets pretty quick?

I am waiting for that tea to be spilled. He did mention the politics and lies so it must be messy. Honestly the fashion and entertainment world are just stank. I was done with the Oscars after the overreaction to the slap last year. And they only confirmed that was the right decision with the leak from that voter attacking Viola Davis without even seeing her movie...
