Babos def Bouchard 3-6,6-3,6-1
I didn't see the match, but since it involves Bouchard, the match is of great importance to TF members.
-
This is Bouchard's 10th match in a row that she has lost.
-
It appears that we will have to wait for BlueTrees to get a full and complete report on this match.
-
Saw some stats --- Babos only hit 39% of her 1st serves in, and still won the match.

Oh no, another Centre Court night session headline match and defeat for Genie! :tape: Looks like she had another good start too, smh.

A 3rd week in row on CC, playing an International, P5, and now an ITF :help:

Is she looking for a GS to complete the collection?! :eek:h:

It appears that she will be in the main draw for the USO,
although everyone else in her ranking group is in the qualies.(Ranking #116)

If she draws a big name opponent, 100% on center court at night.

What a way to top off a 10 match win streak-- with a 1st round ITF loss in your home country.
Not only that, she had to travel 5000km to the west coast of Canada from Toronto to get there...

Hopefully she has some money saved up from that USTA settlement, cause how is making money right now?

The Bouchards seem to be old money or something. All of them are basically just Instagram personalities that shill sponsored things.

That would explain Genie Bouchard's lack of motivation. If you never struggle for money, you never develop that drive.

MD entry to Grand Slams is based on the ranking of the players 6 weeks before a slam. Seeding can change in that time as it is based on the ranking the week of the draw, but main draw entry is fixed way in advanced so that's why Bouchard is in.

Unless she makes the necessary points in the coming months starting next year she'll have to play qualies to get into the Slams.

And hopefully the GS actually make her play qualies to get in, instead of giving her WCs to the main draw. She's milked her 2014 exploits as far they can go. She needs results, not free passes just because she's Genie Bouchard. It's put up or shut up now.

Seems like all the pressure is getting to her. Otherwise, why would a 25-year-old post something like this to her millions of followers-

https://twitter.com/geniebouchard/status/1160956578167529474

In my honest opinion, and I have liked Bouchard at times: It's classic coping.
The cringe at the twitter post is real :spit:

“S=Success”
Which success tho? She stopped having success in 2014-2015.

And now Canada has actually real tennis stars and good prospects (Bianca, Felix AA, Shapo, Leylah Fernandez, etc) so who is going to care about her?
They are totally stealing the spotlight even in her Home country.

Appearance money. Bouchard is still a big draw, especially in Canada. Her match in Vancouver a was prime time match.
She is a good looking girl that had a big year in '14, but that will come to an end if she doesn't produce.

Fanny Stollar is a good looking 20 y/o with very little success, and little money.
If Fanny starts winning her her bank account will be overflowing.
