A hard battle for most part of the match, Wang was just a little step above. And really resilient, as she didn't even look tired at the end of the match.
Ok, but she beat Dolehide, AVU, and Ferro to reach the 2nd week. Of course she can only play who’s in front of her, but let’s not act like this was some amazing effort. If this was the draw she needed to finally do so.... well....Now finally can people stfu about her not making the 2nd week of a slam? We ALL know the worst top 20 player of all time is easily Varvara Lepchenko especially considering she's the broke man's version of Sharapova in terms of meldonium usage.
thanks for the stats :yeah:Nothing more logic for her to reach her first 4th round in slam, since she's ranked 18.
here's her ranking progress since she plays slams:
2014: 100 ---> R2 at the USO
2015: 114 ---> R2 at the USO
2016: 73 ---> R2 at the AO, FO, USO
2017: 45 ---> R2 at Wimbledon
2018: 20 ---> R3 at FO and USO
2019: 18 (with a career high at 14 last month) ----> R4 at the USO
Average rank of a player reaching second week at slam: 16.
Q: Who will blame a player for her "poor" record at slams when this player always had the results expected from her rank?
