Kristina really needs to work on her application, concentration, focus [...] all these stupid shots missed in basic rallying situations where you have the feeling she's not doing nothing special with the ball and just misses.
I knew she would have had to lose to the first set to be more relaxed (these frenchy-frenchy matches :zzz and play better in the second set, it happened just like that but so much inconsistency against a scrub as a better player is just not good. Good tournament but could have been much better the 4th round was accessible. 
Most of her shots were too central and few times she applied the winning tactics but abandoned them for whatever reasons few games later. Serve was mostly invisible too.

Marion looks fresh but her tennis still isn't there. Kiki had her number in the second set but failed to take the important points because of her inexperience/dodgy backhand/bad shot selection.

Another shitfest match at USO

Mladenovic had 4*-2 30-00. Also two BPs in the final game.
After seeing this performance, I am not sure if Mladenovic will ever really break through. She just lacks a brain. Her shot selection is terrible (what was she thinking with all that drop shots?) and she doesnt seem to be mentally strong as well. She has all the weapons, a great serve and lots of power from the baseline, but no brain to use them.

You know, she has beaten a top 20 player and reached 3rd round of a Slam which is, for junior standards, still some kind of breakthrough.
I wouldn't draw too many conclusions from a match between 2 French players, they are usually awful. Kiki is still very much unexperienced, which can account for her bad shot selection. She proved a couple of times she could outrally Marion without going for the big shots. She can play smart. I'm sure that playing doubles will help her to have the right mind at the right time. Time will tell but I wouldn't count her out.

Finally back in the second week of a major
Can't really see her making much of an impact vs Petra, but she's greatly exceeded my expectations here anyway.

marions attacking game is shit at the mo. Mladenovic really didn't have the confidence to take this match, her whole body language was just weak. But she has effortless power, a serve with some variety and solid movement. I actually wouldn't be surprised if st.barts took kvitty out, she can step it up on the big stages and Petra must be starting to feel tired.
