Sloane has developed her game very well, her forehand has become something quite spectacular, although she almost choked after several MPs waste and faced BP when serving out the match, she knew that she needed to go after her shots and she did with a wonderful FHDTL. :yeah: very impressive, with a lot of support from the crowd, she could easily become the star of American tennis.

Fran she did fight her heart out with some outbursts displayed which got her a warning by the umpire, according to Chanda Rubin, the call was uncalled for and she thinks the umpire should let the players play and not become involved with the incident. I agree with her.

Anyway, a very nice match, for a fan, I still hope Fran will keep playing and I hope Sloane will go far in the draw.

This is a solid win for Sloane she defeated the 2010 French Open champion and a former top ten player. Nice to see Sloane maintain her composure even though she was cheated out a match point by a stupid lines person! It is just horrendous these bad line calls.

Second set was so much better than the first in terms of quality of play. Nice to see that Sloane kept her cool during Franny's hot and cold periods.

MP was brilliant. I thought she was gonna choke after wasting MP's at 6-3 5-3 and then getting down 0-30 while trying to serve it out.

Easy R2 vs Amanmuradova or Malek. Looking good to defend her R3 points and maybe get another shot at Ivanovic.

So what's your point? In a tennis match there are two players on opposite sides of the court Sloane did her job and won the match. It isn't Sloane's problem that Schiavone is on the down side of her career.

Sloane is a beautiful girl, lovely smile at the end. Her game is good, a lot of good things about her. Strong forehand, strong serve and great physicality (speed and strength). Definitely a fan after today. She got a bit pedestrian at times in the second set, but when she went for her forehand she was a pleasure to watch! The point to win this match I want to see her in the 4th Round against Caro. A nice v Serena would be great too, would love to see that!

Fran Calm down and come back stronger. Or retire if you want, whatever.

My point is sloane is over-hyped in the tennis world. Girl doesn't have a consistent serve and a backhand.
