Lower hitting zone on her groundies. Plus the surface does most of the work when it comes to her (decent) serve so it's not as exposed. And I guess it's mental too  she seems to love Wimbledon. She doesnt even have a big serve, I dont get it.
I do! I mean there's a huge difference between clay and other courts. But grass and HC, if your serve isnt big, isnt that different. You can ask the same about PIronkova![]()
No more. IW and KB were slower than RG.I mean there's a huge difference between clay and other courts.
No, Paszek had good results on hard as a teenager and the timing should suit her BH more. It's all mental.same as pironkova...
If you knew anything about tennis you would Tamara has not won a GS MD match oustide of wimbledon for a couple of years now, one poster mentioned this the other day, So I am not really shocked, plus Olga made 1/4s of new haven last week...pathetic
A better question would be why are so many GMers so ridiculously quick to jump to conclusions :lol:Why is Paszek so good in grass and so bad in HC?
Well I don’t know about that. There is the undeniable remarkable fact that in the past two years (i.e. 2011 & 2012) she has been a 1st rd loser in the AO, FO & USO but reached QFs at Wimbledon to lose only to Vika on both occasions. At this year’s Wimbledon during her match with Vika, the commentator (I forget whom) opined that since grass keeps bounces low Tamira’s returns at waist level are effective. But at the other surfaces balls bounce higher so that Tamira is striking the ball at her shoulder level and thus is much less effective.A better question would be why are so many GMers so ridiculously quick to jump to conclusions
There's no reason that her game should ONLY be suited to grass in the way that Pironkova's and Lisicki's are. And she has some success in the past on hardcourts - she made the 4th round here as an unseeded player a few years ago, she almost beat peak Jankovic at the AO in '08, and just a few weeks ago she made Tier 1 QF on hardcourts.
She is just ridiculously streaky/inconsistent at this stage of her development (even on grass - she lost in the 1st round of an ITF on grass this year just a few weeks ago), and people on here as usual are reading too much into things and drawing conclusions like these when there isn't enough evidence to draw on yet. It's the "Kvitova can't play on outdoor hardcourts" theory all over again
