Q: Ai can you comment on Rennae's play?

A: Well, I can tell you one thing. Shes really talented. She always keeps you on the run, its just so hard to beat her, thankfully I pulled through today.

Q: What happened to you in the first and second sets? It seemed you didn't start to play until it was 5-3 for her in the tiebreak.

A: Yeah, I just really didn't want to lose. I start to even suprise myself, coming up with these great shots. But I think I've I want to advance past the next round against Gabriela I have to start going for more because if I don't I'm a gonner.

Q: Can you comment on Gabriela, what are you going to bring tomorrow to the table?

A: Well hopefully I'll bring a win to the table :lol: You know, Gabriela is just a really good player as you can see by her ranking. I won't be suprised if I'm steam-rolled, yet I won't be suprised if I win. Hopefully I can surpass or at least take a set off of her.

Q: Can you talk about your doubles? Is it making you a better player? And how do you like your partner?

A: Oh, doubles is just so much fun when you play with Serena. Shes a really great person. I really think that doubles makes me a better player because doubles is where I can experiment things with my shots and what not, it just really helps.

Venus Falls To Dementieva In 1st Round!

Q: How did you play out there Venus?

VW: I played ok, but definitely not at the level where I need to be. I'm taking the FLT very seriously now and it is a disappointment to lose so early in such an important event.

Q: What made you lose today?

VW: I really just wasn't playing my game. I didn't hit my serves well, my forehand wasn't working too well. It was just one of those days.

Q: Do you believe you can be a force on FLT?

VW: Yes I do, wholeheartedly. I know what I'm capable of and one day I'll be sitting at #1 with titles to my credit. I am a force to be reckoned with and I'm soon to be feared.

Q: What plans do you have for Doubles with Lindsay?

VW: We plan to win the whole thing. Lindsay practiced together and we developed some new strategies. We have 4 Titles together and we are the best team of FLT. I really want to win this bad, and she does too. In the end hopefully we'll be holding the Champions Trophy.

Q: Good Luck Venus, and we hope to see you doing well in singles soon.

"I just didn't know how to act after the match." Tanasugarn said.

"You know, this was my first win in the grandslams. And it was not impressive at all 'coz I won over my best thai friend,Viratpraset." Tanasugarn added.

"After the match, I went to Viratprasert in the locker room. She said she was OK, and smiled at me. I and Viratprasert will play in double. We're one of the good teams here(FLT). I will do my best with her"

"Next round, I'm gonna play Sharapova. At the moment, she's proved that she's a good player not a model in TFL (laugh). It's always tough for us evertime we play. And I hope this time I can do it well against her."

7th seeds moves on .

Alyona serves an ace in 2nd set tie break . Dementieva defeated Venus Williams USA 6-4, 7-6(5).

Russian star Elena Dementieva advance to Us Open 2nd round with a straight sets victory over Venus Williams. Dementieva who was 2-5 down in 2nd set fought back with some stuning forhands cross winners .

"There were some moments I played very good, but I still have to improve my serve. That`s the biggest problem, specialy my 2nd serve." added Elena .

Dementieva now face Alicja Molik from Australia .

In doubles Alyona together with Kim reached quaterfinal after a 7-6(10), 7-5 victory over Daniela Hantuchova & Magdalena Maleeva .

Nathalie Dechy: I feel very very tired but also very happy this is my first win after very long time and I feel great

Q: You was in final on French Open. Do you think you can do the same result here?

Nathalie Dechy: It's to fast to saying about win. I was in really bad shape last weeks so if I could reach semifinals here I will be very happy

Nathalie Dechy: Definietly Roland Garos because it's in France and I made final there but I like US Open very much also

A QUICK INTERVIEW WITH MARTA AFTER THE MATCH

Q: Congratulations. It's your first match in a Grand Slam and a first win. How do you feel??

Marta Domachowska: Well, I played in Junior Grand Slams but you can't compare it to this one. It was just amazing. We played together with Martina for the first time and still we could produce some nice shots and our tactics were working quite all right.

Q: Now you're drawn against the no.1 seeds Lindsay and Venus who probably plan to take the title...

Marta: We've got nothing to lose and that's our advantage I think...Lindsay and Venus lost their 1st round singles matches and I think they'll be eager to succeed at least in the doubles event...There'll be pressure and that's our chance. We'll see...

Q: How about your relationships with the other bitches?

Marta: The girls are just amazing, I receive lot of support from them. I hope I'll produce some great results to thank them...

Q: You don't play singles here. Why?

Marta: Well, actually I missed the commitment date and could only enter the doubles. But I'll start playing singles soon, starting next week.

Thai No.2 lost to Thai No.1

" I had some problems against my best friend (Tamarine Tanasugarn) '' said Viratprasert, who lost to Tanasugarn in the first round at US Open.

" I didn't see a difference. It seems like Tanasugarn is hitting the ball better than me. I'm very surprised at the way she's playing. I didn't think she'd be playing
that well coming back. ''

" I think I was playing at a high level today and it's clear that Tanasugarn were also playing very good. She's a specialist. The whole match changed suddenly. A few errors cost me the match. " said Suchanan VIRATPRASERT.

Slovakian Sparkles In 2nd Round!!

Hantuchova acknowledges her fans after a 7-6 6-3 victory over Nathalie Dechy

Slovakian Stunner, Daniela Hantuchova continued her run of form with an impressive straight sets 7-6 6-3 victory over France's Nathalie Dechy.

Hantuchova showed up in a confident mood and played a smooth match to progress without much trouble, "I'm always in a confident mood because I have faith in my talents.", Hantuchova told us afterwards, "Today I gained revenge for Jenn by beating Nathalie who I think I made look pretty average. I played well today but I never really came out of 2nd gear. Even in the tie-break I never felt the need to step my game up, I was comfortable."

"It's nice to beat someone who isn't a teamate.", Hantuchova added," When I beat Maja it wasn't such a great feeling because she is a friend but now I have a chance to enjoy my victory. I'm enjoying all the attention that winning brings you."

Daniela was then asked about her next opponent, third seed Gabriela Sabatini, "She's the captain of the pussycats so obviously it's a big match for me. She's been around here for a long time and obviously wants to win the last Grand Slam of the year, but I'm not going to let her do that. I'm determined to win and there will be no 2nd gear like today. I will be in 1st gear the whole way and I will knock Gabriela out of the tournament for myself and the rest of the bitches. I can't wait to get out on court and make it happen."

When questioned whether she was underestimating the 3rd seed, Hantuchova said, "I don't underestimate people. I know how good I am and that's why I will win. I'm here to go all the way. This is my first tournament and people are already talking about me, when I play Gabriela tomorrow the world will be watching and I will not let myself or anyone else down."
