Where do we think the WCs will end up this year?

Probable Shoe In's

1) Venus/Claire (Claire will probably get in from withdrawals, shes 2 out)
2) Ahn
3) Mcnally
4) Vandeweghe

Probable?
5) Baptiste
6) Volynets
7) Navarro (NCAA winner, and showing good results)
8) Montgomery?

Qualifications WC could truly be anyone: Parks showing good results, BMS will always get one, Duval, Stearns, Hurricane Tyra, Yepifanove, Kalieva Bektas all possible

Doubles:
Some combination of : Neel, Mchale, Bektas, Loeb, Baptiste,Vandeweghe, Whitney and younger talents?
Jones/Scotty won NCAA doubles, wonder if they'll get thrown the last WC

What does everyone else think?

Ooooh, I completely forgot about Kim. Let's hope Venus and claire both make it so it frees up that spot for her.

Are they still not doing the reciprocal ones with France and Australia? I thought those were back by now.

For one of the first times in history, the USTA probably wish / wished they had an agreement in place with the AELTC / LTA.

I think the USTA will give Ngounoue at least a QWC. Brantmeier and Ashlyn Krueger are the same case.
It's a 90% sure about Scott and Montgomery, who have pretty decent ranking for their age.
If Baptiste is healthy, definitely a MDWC, along with Volyents and prooobably Osuigwe, despite her abysmal results.

I think Kimmy wants to come back- so have included her
My understanding was that the Aussie WC was back on
With this in mind - here are how I think the WC’s will go, noting that a few withdrawals will allow Liu and Venus in and therefore free up some more spaces

of my initial list Coco VDW is the biggest ?, maybe Parks will get in ahead of her

the doubles WC will of course depend-on who teams with who on the entry list

WCLiu
WCWilliams
WCMcNally
WCClijsters
WCSharma
WCVolynets
WCVanderweghe
WCBaptiste
Doubles WCQD WC
Liu-LiE. Navarro
Arconada-KiickP. Stearns
Vickery-AndersonM. Mateas
Parks-OswiguweR. Montgomery
McHale-DavisK. Scott

The USTA Girls' 18s champion will get a main draw WC and Emma Navarro will also get one for winning the NCAA title. Assuming Liu sneaks in with a couple of withdrawals...

Main Draw
1. Venus
2. Clijsters (assuming she wants one)
3. McNally
4. Vandeweghe
5. Volynets
6. Baptiste
7. Navarro
8. USTA Girls' 18s champion

Qualifying
1. Parks
2. Stearns
3. Montgomery
4. Duval
5. Scott
6. Ngounoue
7. Mattek-Sands
8. USTA Girls' 18s finalist

I think there will be an Australian WC since an American got one at the 2020 AO, but no Aussie got one at the 2020 USO. So technically the USO "owes" the AO a WC.

Similarly, how a French player got a WC at 2020 AO, but no Aussie got one at 2020 FO. The French "repayed" the WC at the 2021 FO, with Sharma getting one.

Venus, Liu, Ahn, Coco, Volynets, Kim, Baptiste, McNally.
It’s never been more obvious. Ahn gets one as she is going to retire and she’s “defending” her 2019 4R run.
Hopefully Venus and Liu get in to free up two more WCs.
