Despite somewhat disappointing results in the grass season, Tsveti is still close to being top 50 and I think she does have a pretty good shot at finishing the season in the top 50. And if she does finish 2012 in the top 50 no one will be able to say it is because of the grass results either.

I'm a huge Tsveti fan and have even seen her play live but your post above doesn't change the fact that she is a marginal player. Her ytd record is 15-18 and I believe she has only defeated one or two top 20 players this year. She is just a standard middle of the road player, doesn't strike the ball hard but doesn't commit a lot of errors either, but nothing above marginal.

ETA: Unfortunately she also doesn't really have any strong weapons which may explain why she can lose to almost anyone and have yet to pick up a wta title.

Your criteria for marginal is obviously quite different from mine so we will just agree to differ.

And actually Tsveti has quite a few good wins this year, Kerber, Radwanska, Li, Petrova, Wickmayer, Cibulkova. Not all these players were top 20 at the time Tsveti beat them but they are all decent wins.
