I'm doing none of the above.

You can always tell the post-2015 fans from the pre-2015 fans.
I know people claiming to be Serena fans who NOW say that Serena was probably lucky to win all of the slams she won during her 2 decade-long career :haha:

I guess Michael Jordan was lucky to win 6 NBA championships too during his 15 year career. It's difficult to talk sports with some of these younger people who don't understand sports, or who are band-wagoners.

It's like some of these folks don't understand that even the greats in sports get OLD.

Aging happens in real life, and in real TIME to everyone. Athletes included.

Ree is still a solid player whose actually challenging younger players, which is a miracle. Look at the finals she's made coming back from having Jr. and going through an extremely difficult pregnancy. Shows you how GREAT she is, even in old age. Most of us know that she's nearing the end of her goatreer and that she's nearing 40--that Mother Time has nearly caught up with her physically and mostly mentally now. IF she can stay @ a good weight, stay relatively healthy (Esp. the knee) and get enough hold of her nerves in 2020 if she makes another singles final slam, she just may at the very east catch homophobic Court.

I'm still holding onto believing that if it's meant to be, she'll catch and maybe pass Court.

Nevertheless, I'm STILL riding and dying with Ree until the END, and no matter WHAT.

Luv my gul. I admire ha on court and off-court as:

Very very well said :worship::worship: . She's simply the best and I'm with her until the bitter end. And the end will be bitter cause I cant imagine womens tennis without Serena. She is literally the reason I even tuned in all those years ago. I know I'm gonna cry when she hangs it all up BUT even though its sooner rather than later , its not that soon. Fingers crossed for a healthy 2020. She was really robbed of literally the first half of the year because of injuries.

I don't think she is all hype at all. I just meant she looks like she is here to stay and she has got a 'tude on her. So I'm hoping it can push Serena.

I'll wait to see how she does next season though when coaches and players know her game better and are chasing her.

She's certainly the most mentally tough young player.
Bianca's definitely got some talent but tbh, it's not difficult to play against THESE current crop of players and vs an aging Serena who to this point late in her career faces physical issues and who suffers from holding her nerve during finals. She'll never face the murderers row like Ree and Venus faced-off vs EACH OTHER or say vs Davenport, Pierce, Kuzy when she cared enough , Justine, Hingis early on, and even crackhead/insane J. Crap, and even no-serving, jealous and rumor-spreading Dementieva who was exceedingly steady between the lines when on court and several others playing during that time in the WTA--hell JJ when younger/healthy and when in control of her backhand dtl (Didn't want to utter Medusa's name, or the asterisked one's name who won 5* Mel ).

It’s a joke when you really put it in perspective. Serena has made three finals since she’s come back. Keys has made 1 final in her whole career. Svitolina has never made a final. Pliskova has only made one final.

It’s a joke that Serena is held to an unrealistic standard. Let me get this straight, a mother only 8 months back from pregnancy made more slam finals in the span of two years than Sharapova, Mugaruza, and Sloane and yet no one is screaming retirement or “the end” at them. Even some of y’all fake hoes stay acting like it’s the end. Three slam finals is AMAZING. It hurts but I’m so proud of her. She is almost there and I believe in my Queen.

This is a ridiculous post. Do you hear yourself... she fights and fights even after tough finals possess

Like I said, three finals. Name someone with more finals in the last two years...

No, just no.

Andreescu would've won against Serena 6-3, 6-1 if she converted one of those match points and that was wITHOUT help from the umpire.

And honestly it should've been 6-2, 6-1 because at 4-2 in the first set, Bianca had 4-5 break points to go up 5-2 in the first.

Serena was never ahead in the Andreescu match at ANY point in time.

Against Osaka, Serena was up *3-1 serving before mentally imploding and the umpire gave Naomi a whole game.
2018 IW/USO Osaka would absolutely drag Bianca :spit: Bianca cannot handle consistent pace at an elite level, and she has yet to prove otherwise. You also forgot to mention that during that 1-5 stretch in the second set, Serena hit one or two first serves in (her first serve percentage was way worse in the Bianca match). She also failed to hit more than one first serve in after it got to 5-5. Serena was a foot behind the baseline the entire match, and that is down to her mentality. A confident Serena is not reacting from a foot behind the baseline against anyone. Naomi's performance against Serena was much more impressive imo.

And how did she play to get herself to three slam finals huh? She played amazing. Next time you’re trying to tie a record that will cement you as GOAT, let me know so I can kick you while you’re down.

again excuses......she is already goat....serena wasn't really playing that great but was getting easy opponents. serena chokes in the finals because she is desperate for mainstream approval and that is when her fairweather ppl like megan show up.....she chokes in front of them.

Girl you are delusional. Serena feels the pressure when she’s on the verge of tying these records. Do you not remember the lead up to 18 and 22.

If anything, you’re a fair-weather fan with all the negativity you’ve been spewing lately. Serena is progressing each and every time. Nothing good comes easy and she will keep learning from these losses.

you can't say she gets easy opponents. Almost everyone is easy against all time greats  federer, nadal, djokovic all seem like they get easy draws because they're just that good. Serena played well all USO barring the final for reasons we all know, but let's not act like she played like crap the entire tournament and BSed her way to the final. We were all hopeful that she would keep up her high level for a final for the first time in her comeback. To act like she didn't play well is revisionist history based on the hurt felt over a poorly played and lost final. Her feet were moving, she was working her angles and opening the court, she had her controlled aggression game back and was pretty damned impressive. I get disappointment, but you're beginning to sound like her biggest haters in GM with the "easy opponents" "weak era" tropes used to discredit every single Serena GS title.

And let's not act like Megan is fair weather. Beyawnsay doesn't show up for every match or even every final. Neither does Ciara. Neither does Kim K. Karolina W doesn't even come show her support. That isn't the true measure of their relationships and as a professional myself, I can't be at everything my friends do. We have no idea the love and support they send her before and after each match and therefore it isn't for you to say she's fair weather.

And I love how she’s making Serena out to be some desperate black woman looking for the approval of white supremecists.

From day 1, Serena put it out there that she was after the record. From that day on, she put so much pressure on herself to tie it and after every loss, that pressure has built and time has fleeted and I bet she feels like she’s up against the clock. It’s like trying to deactivate a bomb that is about to go off- hands are shaking, muscles are tight, you don’t know when your last moment will be. You can see it on her face during these finals that she’s up against it. She understands her body won’t hold forever, and she may be wanting a second child as well. It will be an interesting year next year, but if she keeps giving herself chances the odds are better than worse.

P.s. this bish better not wait to meet her sister in the final to snatch 24. To gift all these girls their slams and take one away from Venus would not sit well with me (unless it’s one Venus already has).

Wow at the fact that Serena’s last title will be 3 years prior at next years AO unless she wins Auckland or the Year End Finals. I can’t believe no one on her team is emphasizing this fact to her and pushing her to play smaller tourneys for the build up.

Of course they did. Patrick tried to convince her but she refuses to play after the USO.
The only person who could convince her is her daughter. ?
She’s not motived enough to travel and play «*small*» tournaments.

I think it wouldn’t help her a lot anyway. Only grand slams motivate her, she has to play more before these tournaments, but the asian tour is quite useless.

I think Patrick is which is why she did so well in Canada.

She's just never really been here for the year end swing.

I wish she would play Beijing though. Venus is there and I'm guessing so is Oracene so Olympia will have family around to watch her.
