Yes thats right, Memento was easily the best film of last year yet it still only receives 2 nominations for this years oscars. Personally, i thought Guy Pearce and Carrie-Anne Moss were well worthy of nominations but unsurprisingly the Academy chose to ignore those who deserved the acclaim.

It's a VERY original film that requires at least 2-3 viewings before you can even begin to understand the storyline/plot. I've now seen it about 5 times and i'm still not 100% sure what is going on but that merely makes it an even more appealing film.

What did YOU think of Memento and do you think the Academy made a mistake by largely ignoring it?

Well, personally, a film I need to watch 5 times to partly understand wouldn't be too appealing to me. May seem like Greek to me, I guess. Just give me the wham bam thank you ma'am stuff and I'll be happy.
