After having nightmares about yesterday's horrorshow in Antwerp courtesy of Venus Williams & today still feeling a little bitter about Nastya's loss I feel like drawing some hostile fire.

Seen as though my reputation is already in tatters courtesy of the laughably hyperprotective WTAWORLD Williams mafia , I have decided to post this thread:

Which WTA players break the rules of the beautiful game & play UGLY tennis?

1) Venus - last nights showing was the clincher.
2) Elena Bovina - just horrible.
3) Nathalie Dechy - insanely overdeliberate.
4) Serena Scattergun - wild thrashing.

In a way you are right of course - I'm sure even Roger Federer has his off days but I dont think you would ever accuse him of having an ugly style of play. :smash:

To clarify - I'm talking about STYLE OF PLAY: players with godforsaken, dog-ugly technique who tear up the tennis textbook and then piss on it continuously. Or alternatively, players who bore the pants off spectators by engaging in dull, boring, monotonous tennis.

The match was full of short points and and error but I think both players played alright, esp Venus, she ran for everything! Amazing!

Conchita Martinez' tennis is ugly in my opinion - I really don't know what it is but I rather not watch her play and watch the news! Unless of course if a top tener giving her a good thrashing....which seems to be the case nowadays.

Bovina's technique isn't bad at all. Her groundies are solid, especially the backhand. The only thing that could be considered technically flawed is her volley, but she still possesses a very good net game.
