6.Elena Likhovtseva (16) +1
7.Dinara Safina (21) -1

9.Anna Chakvetadze (36) +1
10.Vera Zvonareva (46) -1

18.Vasilisa Bardina (157) NEW ENTRY

19.Tatiana Panova (161)
20.Olga Poutchkova (166) NEW ENTRY

No change in the top 5.
2 people up in the Top 20: Elena Likhovtseva 6th and anna Chakvetadze 9th benefiting from Dinara Safina and Vera Zvonareva slumping down in the world ranking. In 2005, Dinara won Paris Tier II whereas quater finalist this year and Vera Zvonareva lost 3 times in a row in the 1rst round at Pattaya (against WC n°319 Paula Suarez!! ), Dubai (vs WC n°254 Selima Sfar!! ) and Li Na in Doha.
From 11 to 15, Ekaterina Bychkova and Elena Vesnina are up 1 place because Elena Bovina is falling in the ranking for injury.
From 16 to 20: Evgenia Linetskaya is still in bad trouble now n°141 in the world.
At least 2 good news with Vasilisa Bardina, 18 y.o, new entry at n°18 and closed to the Top 150 after reaching Midland $75K semi final (victories over 2 Top 100 player Meghann Shaughnessy -n°60- and Jamea Jackson -n°85-). And Olga Poutchkova, 18 y.o too, new entry at n°20 who also reached the semis in Midland $75K (victory over Laura Granville n°42) and a quater final in St Paul $50K.

12.Elena Vesnina (67)/+1/+5

15.Anastasia Rodionova (108)/+1/+5
16.Galina Voskoboeva (135)/-1/-25

18.Alla Kudryavtseva (157)/NEW ENTRY

19.Tatiana Panova (162)/--/-1
20.Olga Poutchkova (166)/--/+2

The biggest news in the Top 5 is Svetlana up 1 NR spot after her impressive victory in Miami defeating world n°1 Amelie Mauresmo and n°4 Maria Sharapova both in straight sets. That performance allows her to be back in the Top 10 world elite.
No real change in the Top 5 to 10 with stable NR and stable WR.
In the Top 15, young Elena Vesnina continues her rise in the NR (1 place) and in the WR (+5). In Miami she reached the 3rs round upsettinf 11 seed and world n°13 Francesca Schiavone before falling to teenage french star Tatiana Golovin (n°24 in the WR).
Anastasia Rodionova enters the Top 15, up 5 spots in the WR and reaching her ever best ranking reaching the final round of the qualies in Miami (falling to n°108 Vania King) and the 2nd round of the qualies in Indian Wells (loosing to Top seed n°69 and back to good form Eleni Daniilidou).
Elena Bovina continues to slump in the WR facing injuries and now closed to be out of the Top 100.
Galina Vosboeva has the sadest record of the biggest fall in the WR (-25). In march 2005, she reached the final round of the qualies in Miami and the quater final in Ortisei $75 challenger whereas she lost both time in the 1rst round this year. She was quite unlucky to face 2nd seed n°63 Marta Domachowska at Ortesei and 5th seed of the qualies/n°79 Maria Elena Camerin in Miami.
Last month new entry Vasilisa continues to rise in the NR and WR playing challengers: she first compteted in Orange 50K reaching the main draw 1rst round as a qualifer (loosing to n°134 Lilia Osterloh). In Redding 25K, she made it to the quater final falling to surprising qualifer and eventual winner n°330 Diana Ospina.
At least, an impressive new entry at n°18 of the NR: Alla played every week in march on the ITF Tour with up and downs: runner up at Las Palmas $25K (falling to n°190 Kirsten Flipkens), 1rst round at Telde $25K (falling to n°221 Julia Gabba), QF at Fuertaventura $25K (upsetting top seed/n°147 Olga Blahotova en route, loosing to n°246 Dominika Nociarova), and runner up once again at St Petersburg $25K (falling to n°223 Alberta Brianti).

Stable position in the NR until Anastasia Rodionova!
However some good evolutions in the World ranking.
Nadia reached her ever best WR at n°4. It seems that she erached another dimension in her game winning 2 tournements in a row in April (3rd of the year and 4th of her carreer). At Amelia Island Tier II, she won the tournement as Top seed beating 3rd seed/n°13 dangerous Schiavone. At Charleston, she took the crown after a 3 sets victory over 3rd seed/n°9 Schnyder. She's got big ambition for Roland Garros and starts to challenge the Top russian player status vs Sharapova.
Vera Dushevian is back to the world Top 50 after a 3rd rd at Amelia Island falling to 2nd seed/n°9 Schnyder.
Elena Vesnina keeps rising in the world ranking. She made it to the 3rd round at Amelia Island upsetting 8th seed/n°19 italian Pennatta dropping only 3 games.
Very bad month for Ekaterina Bychkova who lost 3 times in a row in the 1rst round (vs n°51 Dushevina at Amelia Island, qualifer n°80 Alona bondarenko at Charleston and n°111 Rodionova at $75K challenger Cagnes s/mer). She's the biggest ranking slump of the month (excepted Elena Bovina because of her injury).
Vasilisa in the best ranking progression of the month...up 1 spot in the NR and 34 in the WR. She played the american ITF tour winning 2 $25K challengers in a row: at Pelham vs 8th seed/n°203 Perianu and at Jackson vs 5th seed/n°154 canadian Dubois. At $75K Dothan challenger, she was may be a little beat tired and was forced to retire in the 2nd rd vs 8th seed/n°144 Poutchkova.
Olga is the 2nd best rising of the month: +2 places in the NR and 28 in the WR. Like Vasilisa, she played the north american challenger tour. She won $25K Hammond ousting 4th seed/n°153 Bardina en route. At Dothan $75K, she reached the QF with once again a victory over Bardina before falling to eventual champion 3rd seed/n°111 Fedak.
At least, Lioudmila is the new entry of the month. She also played on the challenger tour. 1rst at $75K Dinan, she ousted 10th seed/n°131 Poutchek before losing to rising french n°140 Rezai. At $75K Dothan she made it to the QF with a victory over 7th seed/n°140 Voskoboevea in a thrilling 3 sets match before falling to eventual runner up 4th seed/n°130 Lepchenko.

Russia continues to impress with 17 players in the Top 100 whereas they were 13 in May!
Maria is back to the lead of the russian nation. Maria reached the SF at Wimbledon falling to Top seed and eventual chanmpion Mauresmo. She won San Diego Tier I upsetting Top seed/n°2 Clijters and moreover, she won her 2nd Grand Slam title at the USO ousting Top seed/n°1 Mauresmo and 2nd seed/n°2 Henin Hardenne.
Good summer too for Svetlana who's back in the WR Top 5 after reaching the Final at the French Open losing to defending champion 5th seed/n°5 Henin Hardenne. At New Heaven she was SF ousting compatriot 3rd seed/n°5 Dementieva before falling once again vs 2nd seed/n°3 Henin Hardenne. At Bali last week, she kept the title for the 2nd year in a row beating 6th seed/n°26 Bartoli.
Dinara continues to rise in the WR and NR..once spot to the world Top 10. She reached her 1rst Grand Slam QF ousting 4th seed/n°4 Sharapova before losing to 8th seed/n°10 and eventual runner up Kuznetsova. She was runner up for the 1rst time in a grass tournement at Hertogenbosch falling to surprising n°55 Krajiceck. She also made her 2nd Grand Slam QF at the USO losing to Top seed/n°1 Mauresmo.
This is much better for Vera Znonareva who is back in the world Top 30. She won Birmingham Tier III upsetting 7th seed/n°31 Chakvetadze and 4th seed/n°14 Schiavone. At Cincinnati Tier III, she won her 2nd titls of the year with victories over 7th seed/n°32 Golovin, 5th seed/n°27 Jankovic and 4th seed/n°26 Srebotnik.
Anastassia Rodionova broke the top 100 with a 2nd round at Los Angeles Tier I as qualifer (victory over n°82 Czink) and a 3rd round at the USO (ousting 29th seed/n+33 Zheng.
Vasilisa also broke the Top 100: qualified for the Wimbledon main draw, 2nd rd as qualifer at Cincinnati Tier III (victory over n°94 Sromova), 2nd rd as qualifer at Stanford Tier II (victories over n°61 Laine, n°42 Mirza), 2nd rd as qualifer at San Diego Tier I, and qualified for the USO main draw.
Olga is the 3rd rd who entered the Top 100 and the best progression of the summer (+55 spots). Olga mixed up WTA and ITF tournements with a lot os good results: 2nd rd as qualifer at Birmingham Tier III (victory over n°97 Kutusova), winner at $25K Felixtowe, winner at $50K Bronx, qualified for the USO main draw and 1rst wta tour QF at Bali (1rst Top 20 victory over 4th seed/n°15 Ivanovic).

The out of form:
