lol @ people mis-interpreting what this thread is saying.

These players are ranked exactly what they are supposed to be!!

They were not in the top ten because they were not consistently as good as, well, the TOP TEN!

Just because a girl beats a handful of top tenners doesn't mean she is worthy of that designation.

Amy Frazier is one example.

Maybe there are some girls who would in be top ten in the 80s, but that is silly to argue because players in the 80s developed under different conditions. The girls now may hit harder and are stronger, but that is because of advances in sports science and more competitive opportunities in practice and tournaments.

Maybe you can design a ranking system that would support your claims!!

I think the last three spots in the top ten are really up for grabs this season! Dokic seems comfortably independent and involved in her relationship. Hantuchova has pressure to live up to after reaching number 5. Rubin can slip back out of the top ten since the clay court season has not been kind to her. This patch of poor results could ruin her confidence for the grass and hard court seasons where she has points to defend.

Having checked the data for the top 30, the players you are mentioning have never reached up to now a top 10 ranking. But you are saying that these players are "never to reach TOP 10". You are using the future tense. Will you please tell us the basis of your predictions?
And if these players are "never to reach TOP 10" do you have any predictions on who will?
I guess the only ones left among the current top 30 to be among your possible predictions are:
(28) FERNANDEZ, CLARISA
(29) LIKHOVTSEVA, ELENA
(30) SUAREZ, PAOLA
