Current:
1. Serena
2. Kim
3. Justine
4. Lindsay
5. Venus
6. Amelie
7. Jennifer
8. Chanda
9. Daniela
10. Anastasia

Beginning the US Open with all 2002 points dropped incl. US Open:
1. Kim Clijsters 5911 (6043)
2. Serena Williams 4955
3. Justine Henin-Hardenne 4744 (4885)
4. Lindsay Davenport 2729
5. Venus Williams 2508
6. Jennifer Capriati 2045
7. Amelie Mauresmo 1896
8. Chanda Rubin 1862
9. Anastasia Myskina 1736
10. Daniela Hantuchova 1441

*(6403) and (4885) are respective points after San Diego*

Conclusions:
Kim/Justine will battle for #1... Kim has the big edge here, but Justine is only defending R4 US Open points and very few Canada points.

Serena will be #3.
Lindsay and Venus will battle for #4...but doubtful either will move higher than that.

Jennifer will have a hard time moving from 6, but 7-8-9 are up for grabs.

Of course there can be movement within or out of the Top 10 as I've only calculated the top 10s points. I'd think Hantuchova's Top 10 is in serious jeopardy.

It will be interesting to see if Venus wins the US Open and plays Moscow (and wins a few matches there) and wins in LA if she'll end #2, a head of Justine.
that's funny.....:D.....as if Venus cares...

anyways...it's actually been less than a yr that Daniella hits TOP 10,
still remember how she was "fighting" for #10 against Hingis...;).......
i think she was there when Hingis drops out of Zurich
and got in by default.....good one nonethless......:)

another funny thing......
Nastya hit TOP 10 at age 21,
and Jelena drops out at 20, so will Daniella (i think)
and person coming in is most likely to be over 20...

Ai, Maggie, Conchita, Amanda, maybe??
Ai has a quite lot of points to defend tho...

Hope she can get into top 10 this summer!!!

ahhh a fresh wind of CHANGE. how wonderful for women's tennis. the stench of williams as #1 and #2 in the world is a thing of the past. looks like Serena could not come anywhere close to holding to #1 for nearly three straight years like Hingis could.
