Out of the listed players Serena Williams is the only one to reach top-5, top-3 and #1 by winning titles each time.
Anastasia Myskina and Maria Sharapova are the only players to break into top-10, top-5 and top-3 by winning titles each time.

For me, Hingis achievements, at such a tender age, are remarkable.

Thanks for the stats

Clijsters, Henin and Ivanovic became #1 by winning titles too.
and of course all of them held titles when they became no.1, so they had been "winning". The last result isn't any more significant than the others over the 52 weeks, but it is an interesting addition to the chart.

Doesn't matter much, but 7/12 held slams when they got to no.1 for the first time (Hingis, Davenport, Serena, Venus, Ivanovic, Henin, Capriati)

Habsudova, didn't reach the, top 10, until 97. I'd have, lost my money there. I, always thought, she'd have made a great, baseball player, they way, she swung her, racket.

Technically, Serena became number one by reaching the Wimbledon final, win or lose. I don't know about everyone else though.

Since 2004 ten players have broken into top-5, eight of them are Russians, the other two are Serbs.
