Almost impossible, I know..... but fun to think about who will still be playing, and who won't.

I hate to even try, but here goes...

1.Kim C.
2. V. Zvonereva
3. M. Sharapova
4. J. Henin
5. C Sprem
6. D Hantuchova
7. M. Bartoli
8. E Bovina
9. A Harkleroad
10. J Capriati

I see Kim getting mentally stronger and #1, though definitely not dominant. I can't see either of the sisters playing that long, and Amelie's body won't last. Jen may be around, but Lindsay and Chanda will retire before then. I don't think we have seen the last of Daniela's talent, and obviously, the top 10 will be sprinkled with russians.

I don't think that the Williams sisters will have retired in three years time, though I do agree it's a possibility. I'm going to include them however since I think they'll still be around.

1. Serena Williams
2. Venus Williams
3. Kim Clijsters
4. Maria Sharapova
5. Justine Henin-Hardenne
6. Amelie Mauresmo
7.Svetlana Kuznetsova
8. Daniela Hantuchova
9. Vera Zvonareva
10. Vera Douchevina

10. J Capriati(if still playing)

Nope

DBowik you must not read articles at all. Serena Williams has recently said that she doesn't see an end in sight. She has confirmed that as long as she is in good health that she will be playing for another 7 or 8 years at the least.
In this same interview Serena said that Venus and her talked and Venus said that she was thinking about playing into her thirties. Hey she said it.

I think many of the russian girls are really overrated. Look at players like dementieva, bovina, Anna K. They were hyped just like the up-coming rissian teens. None of them is in the top 10 at the moment. Mysina was never hyped nearly as much and now she's in the top 10. I think at most only two russian girls will be in there in three years time. I wouldn't be surprised if none of them were to make it there.

Vera no.2?! What, have they aborted all the hardcourt season?! The day that Maria is ranked above Serena´s when Serena´s retired.
