Let's face it, women's tennis is in a bit of a state at the moment. Most recently, there was a whopping total of seven fans; I would argue some of them were family members, who were at an international event in Baku. Yet at Grand Slams women earn as much as the much, despite playing less sets particularly when Serena plays at her best, and fan numbers really are dwindling.

Why do you think people watch womens beach volleyball.
  • For their hand-eye coordination?
  • Because they are so much better than they were ten years ago?
  • Because they have attractive noses?
No! It's because they are in bikini's. In my opinion tennis players should do the same.

It would also discourage fatties from playing

Full disclosure: I wouldn't be against male players playing with balls while flaunting their abs

Not at the main tournaments, but I've always felt that there should be at least one "bikini" tournament somewhere. (Only the more attractive players would be invited, of course.)

Some players wear next to nothing anyways.

Somewhere, somehow, someone would show up in a Yonex bikini.

I have the same question.

I wonder where kittyking stands on the equal pay debate?
I would really be interested to know
This thread is totally serious ;)

As is reasonably well known on this thread. My view is that it should be up for each tournament as to whether or not they pay the same amount of prizemoney. If male tennis is particular popular in a country and therefore more fans go to it, but they also host a womens tennis tournament I don't think they should be forced into paying the same amount of prizemoney. It's basic marketing - if you can sell out a crowd pay the players more, if they can't - don't.

A similar example is here in New Zealand. We had two exhibition matches, one was McEnroe vrs Pat Cash and the other was two local girls. Do you really think those two local girls should have been paid the same as Mcenroe and Pattie boy?

I can see where you are going by the example you pick, McEnroe vrs Pat Cash and two local girls?

Thanks for the insight
