Re: [Tier I] Miami Sony Ericsson Open

You need to dictate the point and constantly change your tactics, which is quite hard because you only have 12 different shots you can play . I can command him at times, but then he just finds the winner eventually

 u make it sound so easy. lol. my advice is to hold your own serve. I've had success against him in tiebreaks, but only in duels n not during a tour match:sobbing:

I can play now.
LOL we totally both missed each other's messages, let's see, we should make sure we both have enough time to respond and see this.

So how about we play tomorrow, either 11:00 AM or 20:00 PM my time?

If you rather play on a different time let me know. It's probably not going to be today though.

ALG d. Sharapova 6-3,6-3

Had a set point at 5-2 in the 1st set but couldnt convert. I served it out at 5-3. Had 2 bps to go up 5-2 in the 2nd set but couldnt convert and eventually broke to win it 6-3.

The deep high top spin return proved to be very useful against Sharapova. I also hit a lot of top spin angled winners. I served really well and only lost about 3 or 4 points on serve.

Win streak up to 14 :bounce:

Groenefeld def. Chakvetadze 62 64

I had absolutely no winners in the first set. I knew i needed to get many 1st serves in and in the first time ever i served above 90% but it didn't help as i only won 49% of 1st serves but 86% on the second serve:weirdo:. I got a break in the second out of nowhere. My returns got better in the second. The match got entertaining towards the end, and I tried to break but couldn't.

ALG is a freakin' powerhouse. I couldn't get any pace on the ball. returns speeding and serves just booming past me. ALG is awesome :hearts:

ALG d. Chak 6-2,6-4

In the 1st set I was too good. Chakvetadze didnt hit a single winner and only 1 ue but my serve, return and ground strokes were on fire. I cooled down in the 2nd set and Chakvetadze got better but I still played well enough to win it. The 2nd game in the 2nd set was the 1st time ALG has been broken since the pre-AO exo. Didnt matter much as I was able to break Chakvetadze twice in the set. What decided the 2nd set was ALG's ability to hit the right shots on important points.
