Re: [Tier I] Indian Wells Pacific Life Open 2010

Press Conference: My first semi in a Tier 1. I'm excited, and not for my upcoming match. no really, i guess my win streak is coming to an end. but i will have fun trying to knock Justin off his throne. I wish we could have played a full match F-R-E-A-K. I didn't have practice either, my serve was not like it usually is. But all-in-all i want to look forward to winning this tournament, taking it one match at a time.

ALG d. Chakvetadze 6-3,6-4

Good Match :yeah:

It seemed like I could get returns in to earn bps but when when the bps came I would hit my returns out or into the net even when I anticipated correctly.

Chakvetadze is a tricky opponent with more variety than probably every other player on tour so I never feel like I have a good rhythm when I play her. So considering the match up I think I played pretty well. I think Chakvetadze played well during the rallies especially on defense. She primarily struggled with the return. I'm not sure if it was because I was serving well or if her return was off.

Next up is drop shot whore Myskina :tape:

This match was the most fun. It seems easy win, and maybe it was for Justin, but I tried whatever I could to get Anna-Lena on the move. That's the best chance to win a point against her. Funny thing, we held serve easily to 3 all in the 1st set until I got a break point and didn't convert. Then Justin served, got break points and eventually broke me. A-L serve is so good. Our winner to errors ration are :hearts:

It wasnt. I held serve a little eaiser in the 2nd set but you played well, especially in the 1st set. Fortunately I was able to hit a good serve when facing bps and captilaize on the momentum. You did a good job of moving me around. Thats usually the best way to win a rally against me. ALG is rather slow and Im not the best at changing directions. Our w/ue ratios were practically the same. It was the forced errors that made the difference.

I dont hit many aces but I hit a lot of unreturnable serves which is crucial to my game.
