I try not to get wrapped up in "semantics". We aren't required to have English degrees in order to post here. When I used the phrase Williams haters, I thought I was playing on a colloquialism, like "Playa Haters".
Volcana, you write very thoughtful and insightful posts. But, when people start condescending to me or patronizing me, I find it very off-putting and I eventually ignore them. To be honest, I found your response to me to be rather patronizing.
Dawn Marie, I think, phrased it well when she reminded us that it was my opinion. Just because you didn't observe something, doesn't mean it didn't happen. You were very absolute and matter-of-fact in your statements that what I was observing was in fact NOT happening. Who made YOU the arbiter?
We have two different interpretations of what we were reading today. Maybe, my reaction was a bit severe. I tend to drift more into hyperbole and drama. I know that. It is just a matter for a lot of us that we don't spend enough time thinking of *exactly* the word that accurately reflects our point, or we exaggerate for effect.
If you'd like to have a discourse on the exact connotation of the word "hate", please don't bother me with such exercises. I have a very good education that I am continuing. I'm in good hands.
I think most people know what I was referring to. And I think you might want to be a little less "pedagogical" in your responses. Or just ignore me. Others on the board will attest that I am very good at ignoring others.
