Well I've finally finished my 2nd Mega-Thread. This one is dedicated to the Worst Female Tennis Players of the Last 12 Years. (It was supposed to be the last 10 years, but one of the players I'm including didn't play a match in the last 10 years, so I had to change it to the last 12.) I've been researching this on and off for the past year or so, primarily by randomly searching for $10K Challengers on ITF Tennis.com and then checking out the stats for all the players who lost badly in the first round of qualifying. I'm hoping that people who read this will continue that research and submit their own horrible players and then I'll keep adding more and more of them as time goes on. Then hopefully at some point we can have a list of Top 100 Worst Female Players of the Open Era or something :)

Anyway, here's my rankings of the Top 50 worst players I've found so far...

***WARNING: THE FOLLOWING RANKINGS CONTAIN SOME OF THE MOST DISTURBING PLAYER STATISTICS EVER SEEN IN WOMEN'S TENNIS AND ARE NOT MEANT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. PLEASE PROCEED WITH CAUTION.***

The Top 50 Worst Female Tennis Players of the Last 12 Years

1. Kelly Taylor (USA)
Matches: 0-9
Sets: 0-18
Games: 0-108
Last Played: July 2006
Notes: Now back to #1 after a brief interruption by Mikayla Lewis! This girl never won a single game in her whole career. She’s also been double-bageled by such players as Dewonder Davis (see below) and Elizabeth Dolan (one of the players Brie Whitehead beat.)

2. Vanessa Lima (BRA)
Matches: 0-44
Sets: 0-85
Games: 22-400 (5.2%)
Last Played: Oct 2011
Note: This girl has played 44 matches so far in her career and has yet to win a set! She’s currently at 85 consecutive set losses in a streak that has now lasted for more than 11 years! (First loss was in 1999!)

Matches: 1-33 (only win was by default)
Sets: 0-66
Games: 16-394 (3.9%)

Last Played: July 2008
Note: This girl apparently won one match at 0-0 when her opponent defaulted, but other than that she never won a match, or even a set, in 33 attempts! She lost 66 consecutive sets and she won a total of only 16 games in her 33 completed matches. That’s 16 games out of 410 that she played!

4. Stefanie Hershfield (USA) - 51 losses (2001-2003)
4. Dewonder Davis (USA) - 51 losses (1999-2005)

So, pretty amazing eh? Among these players, Brie Whitehead is basically the equivalent of Steffi Graf :worship: Anyway, here's how you guys can help me make these rankings even better...

How You Guys Can Help

1. Post all horrible players you find so I can add them to the rankings! I'm particularly interested in players who have played at least 5 or 6 matches and never won a game, players who have played at least 11 or 12 matches and never won a match and players who have played at least 20-25 matches and have won less the 5% of the matches they've played.

2. Post the results of any new matches played by any of the players featured in this thread, so I can update their stats.

3. Post any pictures or info you might have for any of the players featured. (I'm particularly curious about how many of these players are severely obese, blind or missing limbs.)

4. Tell me about any mistakes I may have made with my numbers or my math.

5. Vote in my poll! :)

And of course feel free to post comments, praise, questions about the status of my social life, etc. :)

Wow, Brie didn't even mae the top 50!

Wow this makes the people who go an entire season losing only 6 matches, even more impressive.

Brilliant list. Makes you wonder why they bother(ed). :tape: Kelly Taylor  :tape:.

What about the girls that Brie beat, Lateefah Brown, Diamond Jackson (can't remember the other two), what's their stats?

Recently Brie actually won a whole two games against a player in the top 300 recently. Not bad going. :D

Is 32 really that funny? Cuz Charity Johns' only win was against a 38-year-old :)

Anyway, the 32-year-old girl isn't on the list cuz she only played 2 matches.

my personal favourite for the future is Hiromi Takeuchi (USA)

played 6 matches and even got double bageled by a nigerian girl :worship:

and of course Andrea Paredes from Chile

good stats also for Keiko Tameishi (JAP) who played over years with like 4 or 5 wins and Fernada Oliveira da Silva (BRA) who got double bageled by Tameishi  aas well as Vanessa Lima (BRA)

We should get a bagel company to sponsor the awards - they should be called the Bagel Awards.

Worst Player - Kelly Taylor
Worst Newcomer - Makayla Davis
Worst Losing Streak - Amy Dillingham
Worst Doubles - Nancy Loeffler-Caro
Worst Continuing Losing Streak - Anne Priska Schaefer
Any other category I've missed?

Even better would be a tennis tournament at Wimbledon, Wimbageldon, held on the hallowed courts of SW19 following the Championships - the only difference is that the players that lose go to the next round until we have an Ultimate Loser.

Portugal MUST be represented on this list.

Bibiana Almeida

2007 W/L record: 0-10 (3 double bagels, 10 bagel sets, 3 breadstick sets)
2008 W/L record: 2-13 (one of the wins was a ret. after 1 game played, 5 bagel sets, 8 breadstick sets)
2009 W/L record: 2-7 (2 double bagels, 6 bagel sets, 3 breadstick sets)

The saddest part of all this was a discussion I remember reading down at LusoTénis in which someone connected to this legend of the game scolded the kids for poking some (harmless) fun at her epic results, and all the kids quickly apologised. :help:
