Disappointing to lose both my 12s :(

11th for me brings back memories, it's been a long time since I was an SF-11th specialist. Usually further down these days.

Wow you guys suck. That Endless Love pos garbage makes it through and one of the most highly rated R&B tracks doesn't.
That's us allright :D

It's getting old but sad to see Laurent's song go. That The Police song deserved more as well tbh.

A bit surprised to be in the final. I think it's the first final in anniversary games since my first game (anniversary game 150?).

Most people in this game hate R&B for some reason, no idea why

pretty good final i think. sad to see auktyon and sheila e. go.
Glad you and a few others liked Rogan Born. Tbh it did far better than expected, I never for a moment thought it’d make the final

Sheila E. was a real grower for me, would have given her double digits in the other SF

kinda funny my song was either hit or miss with 3 people ranking it 1st and one 2nd best from SF, but it wasn't enough.

Found it funny someone thought it was Dutch 😂 so offence for Dutch people, but it is the most unpleasantly sounding language of Europe to my ears.
It was fun to read the comments though and I am happy with my choice nonethess: it's simply, yet gives me emotion despite not knowing any Swedish, which was made sound very nice in this track despite not being the most musically friendly language in the world

Yeah, I've noticed that in the various music threads. For example, when I post blue-eyed soul in music threads, I get likes but whenever it's a black soul artist, nothing (Heath liked some Missy Elliot in the past though)... I guess it's just another example of systemic racism.

meh

I like it in both languages and it’s true that whoever translated it did a great job as it does sound well in Spanish.

I think we can all agree Shakira should stop trying to sing in it French however 🤣
This is a new cover that I love too

A lovely song and I immediately sensed it might teeter around 11th/12th place so it would need my 12.

Still fell short.

Bobby James is the real grower... Could not believe I would like it that much after SF results! My favourite song is still the song I nominated for this anniversary. But I have to say thanks for the nice little disco track from SF1.

So sad seeing my big points flopping so hard. :/

I would reply to Bibi, who wondered about my choice of the live performance of "Je l'aime à mourir", that not only this version is better than the original studio one, but also that hearing the audience singing it perfectly from the start, is a very moving and majestic moment, underlining the beauty of a popular love ballad, basically a folk song whose melody has become universal. Also, in response to DropShot, no way that any cover of any kind can come close to the original version, which remains a wonder of simplicity.

I think millions of singer-songwriters in the world only dream of putting such a simple, catchy, and tender melody just with vocals and acoustic guitar, with the power to reach a wide audience. Though one may wonder if such a simple song would work today. It certainly worked in the french world in 1979 (probably every other french-speaking country as well).

"Je l'aime à mourir" is so lovingly written, its fluidity is universal, and as I said in my comments, it could have been written in the middle ages as well. It tells how much a man can love a woman. She's everything to him. I don't see how it couldn't ring with many people of both genders.

Side note: I faceciously suggested that Bibi could be the sender of the song in my guessing fun. You have to know that Bibi, in french, means "Me". :p

Your opinion, my opinion is different friend.
Flamenco voices suit better for the song.
I repeat, Its my honest opinion 😉👌
