Umm...what happened on hardcourts this year?:haha:
The William sisters werent there. I bet you forgot that didnt u? No other competition apparentlyMartian KC said:Umm...what happened on hardcourts this year?:haha:
As I said your analogy doesn´t make sense. Serena or Venus beating Jen isn´t a big deal. They ALWAYS beat her....it were Justine and Kim who had trouble with Jen, till this year. Jen hasn´t beaten Serena in two years, has never beaten Venus. What is there to talk?!Schalckske said:Back at the moment of usopen final, there was a lot of pressure, i will not deny that. But now, with all what has happened afterwards ( being number 1 while having no slams, people saying that there are at least 2 players better, negative h2h's against williams and justine) i would say there was much much more pressure today, and you know what, kim won today. (seems like she does can handle the pressure)
If kim or justine win a tournament, it's a fluke. If serena or venus win a tournament, then they're the greatest of all players.
If kim or justine lose a tournament, they show that they are vulnarable and not that strong. If serena or venus lose a tournament, they were injured, they weren't motivated, they were tired, etc etc
If kim or justine beat jennifer, she's not fit enough, she's a choker, ...
If serena of venus beat jennifer, she's a top player with several GS under her belt
As i said before: great tennis expert you are![]()
I want Jen to play the YEC and kick jhh butt. Since jhh can't be on any juices she definitely will not beat Jen. I think Kim's father was onto something when he made those statements about jhh and juicing up.Jen'sFan said:She's looking knackered. She shud just play the champs now, the no1 ranking can wait.
Indeed! When the winners of the past FOUR opens and what´s more the finalist the last two years aren´t there.....you profit! It doesn´t mean that there was no competition...but there wasn´t REAL competition.Jen'sFan said:The William sisters werent there. I bet you forgot that didnt u? No other competition apparently

So you don´t think Juju´s U.S. open win was a fluke?! Well, we´ll see next year. Her RG isn´t a fluke, because it is universally known that she is the best clay-courter.
But looking at the history of the Open and hardcourt events generally you can openly say that she profited very much of the absence of the sisters! Do your homework: you can count on one hand the hardcourt events that are NOT won by the sisters....so it ain´t like I´m making this up.
When did I say that Kim´s wins are all fluke?! If you´re refering to the win against Serena. Did she beat Serena ever since?! Venus?!
I´m talking with facts! Since L.A. four matches against the sisters: 0-4 for Kim. Period.
So we´re going down that road?!Schalckske said:* I can clearly remember all the comments of williams fans after the match serena-jennifer. It was an epic, great performance of serena, ...
So don't start with: they always beat jennifer, because at the moment back then, you were definitely the first to say how great serena was...
*I never said that justine did not take advantage of the abscence of the williams sisters, i only say that justine and kim can beat them on hardcourt, and that they can win us open, with or without beating a williams, again in the future.
*If you wanna talk with facts: okay then:
justine: 2 slams + 5 other tournaments
serena: 2 slams + 2 other tournaments
kim: no slams but 7 other tournaments
venus: no slams but 1 other tournament
that are facts, so come back when you have a point, please
If i look at my own post, i can clearly see i did mention no slams.bandabou said:So we´re going down that road?!
Ain´t that great. Play 7 tournaments, win four titles...defend a GS title...nice and cool!
We weren´t discussing how many titles each won this year. 7 titles and?! NO SLAMS! That´s what you should say! No one is gonna remember that Kim won 7, 8 titles...they are gonna remember that she got bageled and bradsticked at her two slam-finals.
o just because Serena always beats Jen we can´t say she played great that day?! In the beginning when Kim was always beating Justine, didn´t her fans keep saying good match this and great match that?!
When did I say it wasn´t great win for Justine in defeating Jen?!Schalckske said:If i look at my own post, i can clearly see i did mention no slams.
Maybe you overlooked it, or maybe you only read what you wanna read.
You started with stating "facts", so i answered with also stating facts that IMO are more relevant than yours...
Of course you can say serena played great that day, but at least give some respect and props towards kim and justine too, who beat the same jennifer. (which you clearly seem to forget)
I will not take the time to read all your posts, but I could easily quote numerous posts of you where you say something like:bandabou said:When did I say it wasn´t great win for Justine in defeating Jen?!
I only said and stated that I think that Justine has ways to go on hardcourts before she is at the SISTERS´S level. Face it: The Williamses are the best fastcourt players...don´t have to even discuss it.
and that these last two tournaments are prove that Justine still remains vulnerable on faster surfaces....the same way the sisters are vulnerable on slower surfaces.
Besides what is the point of pointing out how many tournaments each won?!
O.k....I didn´t mean to denigrate her wins. It´s just that some of her fans declared her the best hardcourt player alive and stuff....whereas she didn´t beat the true queens of hardcourt.Schalckske said:I will not take the time to read all your posts, but I could easily quote numerous posts of you where you say something like:
"and who did justine beat in order to win us open: big choke jennifer and even bigger choke, too defensive kim"
I think this is denigrating a win, maybe you see this different, i don't ...
I think we all know justine is more vulnerable on faster surfaces, but there are friendly, non-denigrating, non-arrogant ways to tell this...
Some might say that Justine's GS wins were "flukes", as Kim was clearly home but the lights werent on. Today Kim was home but the lights WERE on and this is more like the Kim of "old" as far as Justine was concerned. By early in the third set you could see it on Justine's face that Kim was on top. Justine did not have the strength physically or mentally to beat Kim today and there is no way that this was a fluke win. You obvioulsy didnt watch this match, judging by your comments.Ballbuster said:Its also late in the season, and the body and mind cannot continue to perform as well as during the peak times of the season. I think this is a fluke win for Kim.
Sorry folks. I 'm not too fond of Justine either, but until Kim can start beating her between March - September, its just a lucky win.
It wasn´t fluke. Kim was all over Justine. In fact Kim should have won it in two-sets...Justine´s serve was completely off by the third-set. She was relying on a second-serve that whole set.fifiricci said:Some might say that Justine's GS wins were "flukes", as Kim was clearly home but the lights werent on.
