Justine and Jenny Fight Off Rain, Advance
Even in the rain Justine Henin-Hardenne wanted to play, and now it's obvious why, as she defeats Dinara Safina in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3 to reach the quarterfinals. In another match delayed numerous times by rain, Jennifer Capriati made quick work of Elena Dementieva, winning 6-2, 7-5, to advance to her second consecutive US Open quarterfinal. The matches that were in action, Ai Sugiyama against Francesca Schiavone and Anastasia Myskina against Mary Pierce, have been suspended due to rain.
