When was the last time so many players in the top ten where injuried at the same time? Serena and Venus are both nursing injuries. Davenport and Mauresmo aren't totally healthy, and Capriati's shoulder is now hurt. And how's Justine's hand doing? I hope they all get better soon, before the US Open. Monica and Anna hopefuly will feel better soon as well.

Venus and Serena are taking caution. Expect them both to compete in the US Open.:)

Not so sure about Seles,Jenny and a few others though, but hopefully Seles and Jen will be ready.

there are couple of times like this i recall,

RG 01 and AO 02, and you know who won.....:)
and Kim was that close, once the title, the other #1

how could will it be for Amelie to win her 1st slam..:)
and Kim becomes #1 without winning one..:D
At the French in 2001 who was hurt? Only Davenport and Seles and at the Aussie in 2002 it was just Serena. IMO thats really not that many players.

the reason i was reminded was coz
there was some kinda -ve hype
about them not being good slams or something like that
and everyone was just off, and off they were as Jen came through,
who would have though......:D.....

maybe it's a good thing Serena gets sidelined,
gives her more time to read scrips and stuff...
