The two things that occurred to me when I saw the clip:
1. Frankly, Chris Evert is the one who ought to be offended, not the twit who lost his temper in the clip.
2. The juvenile nature of the taunts in telling a male athlete that he's like a woman notwithstanding, if Everett knew anything at all about what a tough competitor and mind bogglingly successful athlete Evert was, he ought to have taken the jibe as an unintentional compliment. Man or woman, if your mental attitude when competing is compared to Chris Evert's, it's a bloody good thing, in my opinion.

I think what Everett did was right. Rome was just trying to insult him, its not about what he said, but how he said it. And had he meant it as a joke, he wouldn't have dragged it on. 'I already said it to your face' is really asking for it,and I am glad he got it!

Rome apologized on air to the audiene and to Evert.

He invited Evert on the radio talk show and the tv show to
apologize many times. The QB refused to do it.

Can't blame him. But, Rome took responsiblity for what he
did, and said he should not have done it that way. Even now
he says it was wrong of him to do it.

He did use that term for Jim on the radio show, and figured
he knew about it. Bad timing, bad joke, bad taunt.

Rome has surived and thrived in the meantime, and has a
successful tv show, and a long running and syndicated
radio show.

Whatever happend to Jim Evert? The 'happy feet' comment
was nothing new for him though. Many writers in LA were
saying the same thing - he didn't want to get hit, after taking
some savage hits earlier in the season. He would go down
on purpose to avoid the hit.

It's also why he often cuts guys slack. Winalda, the soccer
player had said something derogatory about Rome that was
published. Eric went on the show this week to say he was
out of place to have said it, having been on the Rome show
in the past, and said he was sorry. Rome accepted the apology,
and went on. Rome hates soccer in general, but has had
soccer players on from time to time who are local.

Rome is a misogynist twat. He knew exactly what he was doing, and I don't think he was/is the least bit sorry.

Sorry to nitpick, but the QB's name is Everett, not Evert. It's the tennis legend whose last name is Evert.

Publicity stunt to get ratings. If you look closer, Jim Everett was playing along. Freeze the action when he is about to throw the table.

Talk about misplaced testosterone! We tell our kids, "stick and stones," then two loons get on TV and put on a fight. Distasteful and idiotic...
