The CP Learning Thread

In addition to an awesome tennis game, Danielka possesses a brain that has a constant thirst for knowledge. Her family places a special emphasis on education and Danielka has excelled in the areas of mathematics, physics  , computer studies and languages. So, to celebrate Danielka’s love for learning, I’ve started this thread.

This is the thread in which we CPers can discuss mathematics, physics, biology, languages, and anything else that is related to learning. However, I think that we should leave discussion on the Slovak language to Mousee’s thread.

We each possess knowledge that can be used to help those who need assistance, or simply to educate those who are interested.

Just think: If you were ever lucky enough to meet Danielka, would you like to discuss the weather, or would you like to discuss animals that live in the Australian outback or the way to integrate a logarithmic function?

So let’s open our minds and learn while we support Danielka. You know that it’s what she would want ;)

YES!! Well done for not giving up!
Could you please clarify this answer? Bangladesh is indeed the most densely populated large country, but it is does not have the world's highest population density. Macau is number 1 and Hong Kong is number 3, but they are both special administrative regions of China. Monaco is number 2, but it's population varies from month to month due to it's residents jetsetting. In addition, France still has some input into who is the minister of state. Singapore is number 4 on the list and the highest country on the list to be completely independent (no requirements placed on running the country by other countries).

Singapore has a population of 4608595 in a land area of just 682.7 square km, which translates to a density of 6750 people/square km.

Banglasdesh has a population of of 138448210 in a land are of 133910 square km, which translates to a density of 1033 people/square km.

For the record, Macau has a population of 469903 in a land area of 25.4 square km, which translates to a density of 18500 people/square kilometre.

adam, you have to explain the answer. and don't be cheap. give him a prize!
Okay, here is a question for everyone.

Say you have a looooong piece of string that is as long as the circumference of the earth at the equator. Now, you want to have it so that the string is one metre above the earth's surface at each point on the equator (assuming for simplicity that the earth is level at every point along the equator). What length of string will need to be added to the original piece of string to make this possible?
