Reviving an old topic from long ago.

For those not familiar with the term (from the old HBO show, "Not Necessarily the News"), a "sniglet" is a word that isn't in the dictionary, but should be. What are some tennis sniglets that we can make up? Here are a few from before:

Drob: a drop shot that goes too high into the air.

Lowb: an attempted lob that is too low, allowing for an easy smash for the opponent.

PENNtagram: tennis ball logo tattoo that you get if you're at the net when your doubles partner hits a lowb.

Nutcord: when a male player miscalculates the height of the net while attempting to step over it.
And a new one:

Andydextrous: a fawning announcer that is equally capable of kissing both of Roddick's butt cheeks.

Kiss Everted-(verb) a heavily favored star picked by Chris Evert to win, almost certain to be an upset victim.
Also used: "Chris kissed".

inyourhead smash-when you have a chance to hit
your "enemy" with a smash.

screen volley- a volley meant to be a swing that
hits the screen.

I use to love sniglets!!! Here is my try at one:

octaflash ~~ Octagon's spreads false rumors of engagements etc.. in order to have their name in the paper and bring attention to the world that Anna is THEIR client!

~~ Chris KISSED is the BEST!

I don't know if this would count as a "sniglet", but it's an old favorite of mine, anyway!

Sabatweeny: a between the legs shot that only a certain Argentinian player could make

Gorehand - The players stand quite close to each other and the one preparing a hard pass shot has a very loose grip on her racquet..

Gorand - A forehand way out after getting an easy return on a hard serve.

Arantxaphobia: a fear of long, claycourt rallies.

Chrissed off: feeling of a top player when losing after being Chris-kissed.

Slopspin: an unusually spun shot that is both topspin and slice, yet neither, and ricochets off the court like something out of a Benny Hill sketch. (I hated players who did this.)

Racqueteer: a player for whom 90% of his/her shots never touch the strings. Also know as a Framous Amos.

McEnhole: John or Patrick McEnroe when they're saying something negative about women's tennis.

I think Kiss Everted is great. McEnhole isn't bad either. Can't think of one now. I'll probably come up with a weak one.

how bout fart-in-mouth disease? Not exactly tennis, but one of my favorite players suffers from it! Basically a condition used to describe players afflicted with too much cursing (sh*t, hope I don't pick it up)

These are *very* clever, Brian!! :)

My fave (of course!): Tabula 'Rantxa

which is a take off on tabula rasa, a clean slate -- is that right?

Just LOVE that!!! Anna-nimity would be be runner up and Chris-kissed my show horse! *LOL*
