18 seems to be the general logical and legal age to be able to legally consent to the the horizontal mombo in most of the Westernized world. :

Lets hope that the coaches and other athletes can wait 1 or 2 years before going after these high end babes. :)

The legal age of consent in the U.S is 18, unless one has a declaration from the courts giving one that right at no less than 16.
Once again you prove your remarkable ignorance. The age of consent in the US varies by state and ranges from 14 to 18. I believe 17 was chosen by a larger number of states than any other, about 1/3. You'd think a resident would actually know more about that than a foreigner. But on the other hand, you do live in a very tennis-intensive state, and have long since demonstrated that you know less about tennis than those of us who have to endure 6 month winters to get to 2 month summers.

Up to the mid-1970's, their age of 'consent', was 7.

DH - Just because you want to f*ck a 13 year old girl, does not mean that most normal men have your same sick prediliction.

In the U.S. the majority of states chose 18 as the age of adulthood, idiot.

I do not live on tennis stats, as non players like yourself, but as far as tennis strategy, experience adn techniques, I am beyond your limited scope.

The majority of states? I thought a couple minutes ago you said all them? Nothing like making up the facts as you go along.

BTW, I'm sure Conchita finds your paltry attempts at humour terribly clever.

Isn't it enough around here that we have arguements over opinions without arguing over facts? Obviously the age of consent in varying states is a set law. It's either this or that. It can't be both. It's what is it. Those arguing over this both seem to be very sure of what they're saying so obviously, y'all have facts to back up the talk right? All I've been able to find is this site http://www.ageofconsent.com/ageofconsent.htm but obviously, it's not 100% realiable and probably not the sites that y'all are looking at. I would much like to see links posted to provide information so that this arguement could be ended.

And if you just can't stand what I post, then stay the hell out of my threads and play with your 12 year old girlfriend, or most likely, boyfriend instead of worrying what I post, fool. LOL

Hong Kong: gay 21, lesbian unknown, heterosexual females 16, heterosexual males 18

how they gonna work that one out ???
In the US at least, there is often a disparity between girls and guys about the legal age of consent. It's always been this way and is only now starting to change. I guess it began as a way to "protect young girls" or something like that, who knows

There is also a disparity between gay and hetero sex as you mentioned, which I find really amusing, consdering gay sex doesn't lead to pregnancy or some of the STDs common in teens (note I said SOME).

Ahh, this great country of ours

Why make it higher when generally speaking teenagers are maturing earlier and have sex at an earlier age than a few decades ago?
As someone correctly noted in this thread above me, people are maturing faster physically now than ever before, but emotional maturity is being stunted. Physical maturity, especially sexual maturity, is happening earlier and earlier now because of better nutrition and a more developed environment. It's all biological, and you can't stop biology (easily, at least).

But the attitude that has permeated through the US at least, and perhaps even most of the Western world, is one of delayed adolescence. This mostly has to do with higher standards of education. It used to be that, after high school, it was normal for the kid to move out and get a job. College wasn't a necessity, and didn't become one until it became nearly impossible to earn a living wage straight out of high school. But basically, the longer it takes to complete one's education, theoretically the longer one is dependent on one's parents/family and the longer one can spend in the adolescence flummox.

I could go on and on and on about this, but won't bore the thread. If you'd like more details, feel free to PM me :)

All this mention of the #7 & #10 is mixing 2 seperate issues. They're numbers used for age difference mainly, not age of consent! So if a 30 y.o. has sex with a 16 y.o., boku trouble. A 20 y.o. with that same 16 y.o., "WTF". :p ;)

actually, if you're 16 you can legally smoke in Canada, you just can't buy '****' (unless they're the flaming kind ) until you're 19...it's one of those weird laws where you can pick up a habit three years before you can support it yourself.

Isn't it the same with drinking? that you can drink at any age as long as it's on your own property or something like that?

This book was written in 1991. I think the Eastern European top twenty veteran could be Manuela Maleeva who is from Bulgaria, she married her coach and became Swiss. The coach from her country could be Eric Van Harpen who is Swiss, and he trained Conchita who was a top ten player in 1991 and is a lesbian. Maybe I am wrong, but the book shows how common it is for older coaches to sleep with younger girls.
eric van harpen is neither swiss nor bulgarian, but dutch, if i'm not mistaken, so it can't be him.
